Collected Today

Featured Replies

The "grumpy old man" finally acquired a "grumpy old man's" car. Less than 17 weeks from order to collection. Was told that Rosso Brunello is now discontinued so will be even rarer than it is now. In two weeks I've seen dozens of Octavias but only 3 Superbs. Ticked most of the extras; KESSY (even the salesman didn't figure out how to lock the car without the key), MDI (brill with iPod), Rear Side Airbags (got to look after the grand children), Rear Door Sun Blinds (ditto), Sunset Glass (almost dark enough), Variable Boot Floor, DSG Paddles (Brill - throttle blip on down shift), Callisto Alloys (FOC just preferred the look), Space Saver Wheel (it's actually a REAL 16" wheel + tyre), Auto Dim Mirror (never met one you had to switch on), Hot Seats (wouldn't be without them up here), Hot Washers (handy in May), Hot Screen, Headlamp Washers, TPM, Park Assist (what the heck, it's the 21st century, let's give it a try).

After an extremely small hire car for 2 weeks I am so looking forward to enjoying the comfort and all the mod-cons for the next xxx years.

Congrats, looks lovely, enjoy it

Looks very nice. I hadn't realised Rosso Brunello was discontinued and mine, expected end of July, may well be the end of the line. Odd as the colour features on the front cover (et al) of their brochure for the car. I reckon mine will be 24/5 weeks delivery for the 4x4 combi. Interesting about the spare wheel. I ordered one too and wondered what it will be - though my Elegance spec has 18's and I guess the spare will be smaller. I do like your Castillos I must say.

If I was choosing again I'd have gone for the rear air bags for my grandchildren so feeling a tad guilty.

As has been said, enjoy it.

Looks.......well..........Superb

Seriously, looks very nice, enjoy it.

Enjoy, I'm sure you'll love it. I agree re ipod and MDI, brilliant combo.

Regarding the extra set of airbags in the rear .. I ticked off those as well thinking it could not be enough safety precautions for my children.

BUT then I investigated this at bit further and if the children are small and sitting in child seats the airbags might do more harm than gain if you're not using seats from Skoda (the airbags could slam into the seats in some sort of bad way).

I have never seen Skoda child seats in any tests, and I had already "best-in-test" seats and sticked to them and removed the rear airbags option.

I don't know, this was my experience from my Skoda dealer. They did never mention this before I asked ... I don't exactly now for sure if they are right, but it could be worth considering.

Happy New Car...!!

Looking good in Rosso Red, not many Combi's in that colour!

Welcome to the club... Don't worry about the constant smile you'll soon have, you get used to it :giggle:

No pigment to make the paint up with as it is only made in Japan , and facility devestated in the quake .

Very nice! you will love it.

Just a small point, the heated washers are only the nozzles. The water bottle does freeze solid in the kind of weather you get in winter.

Enjoy,

Phil

Very good point here, i believe my pipes froze last winter... :( so still need a good concentration of washer fluid in the winter months...

Ooooerr missus!

I think this is the first UK registered Superb Estate in Ross Brunello I've seen. Even Rosso Brunello Superb hatchbacks are a fairly rare sight...I should know; I have one!

I have the same on order, week 24 build, so there will be a few Ross Brunellos around!

Common as muck, really...

Superb!

:smirk: Welcome to the "Grumpy old man" club- you will find your membership short lived, and before long you will spend your driving hours in serene calm with an idiotic grin on your face. The transition is quite painless, and actually rather enjoyable

Actually apart from the one in the dealer I have yet to see a Combi of any colour on the road since I ordered one at the beginning of February! Mine in RossoB is due to be with me next week; fingers crossed....
