WRC style Spoiler - now fitted

Featured Replies

Fitted a spoiler at the weekend. Seems quite good quality (it's 4 pieces bolted together)

Not sure it looks as large as some, but I'm happy with it.

Now was going to have it refinished in all over white. but now considering white, but having the top wing wrapped in carbon fibre effect. Or maybe Green all over? any suggestions as to what you would do are welcome.

Just spent over 30hours cleaning it. Getting all the small specs of tar off was hard work.

I would just do the whole thing in white.

Like this:

I would go for white

Green might look good too, as you have the graphics on the car, which the white one in the other pic doesn't.

Either would look good IMHO.

where did you get the spoiler from? i've been tempting with the idea for aages but after seeing it on yours it looks good

How does it attach? do you use the existing bolt holes?

Came off evilbay. Better than expected as described as fibreglass. Turns out its proper polyurethane, damn heavy but struts still hold hatch up. Made up of the base, two sides and top wing. Looks like it bolts into existing holes, but I had to elongate the wholes by a few mm's.

Have already decided white base and sides. Will 3M carbon wrap top wing ala evo's.

White base, Green sides, wrap the top, just my thoughts.

Green sides, white base and top. I just don't get carbon wrapping.

Like the spolier  , almost the same as mine although mine was a 1 piece.

And i did have to do the same as you and elongate the rear holes by a few mm's.

Bowders,

When you elongated the holes, did you paint the holes? I'm going to be drilling my tailgate to fit a spoiler and thinking I should use something to protect the paint, just not sure what yet.

Cheers,

Martin

Was that one part one an ebay job?

Ive been considering one!

Hi Martin, Yes I did paint the elongated holes and i also black tiger sealed the spoiler on and around where the holes were to keep it water tight.

It was a ebay jobbie but a Kopac one. was a second hand one and not one of the cheaper versions. Although i know a few ppl have fitted the cheap versoon ok.
