Fully folding seats

Featured Replies

Is it me (hope not) or has this extract from the owner's manual been somewhat lost in translation ? Can someone please clarify. Having not physically fully folded mine as yet, perhaps if I had, all would become clear :dull:

"Folding rear seats fully forwards and secure

– Open the guide loop for the seat belt on the side of the outer seats and put the belt

tongue into the opening of the wheel housing on the respective side trim panel -

safety holder."

Ooh, I know, I know. Me me me

"guide loop" = strip of fabric on port/starboard outer seat backs with a snap fastening/ popper.

Manual assumes you have your rear seatbelts running through these.

"opening of the wheel housing" = slot in port/starboard wheel arch plastic to accomodate the blunt end of your seat belt tongue.

A parking place for your seat belt, if you like.

Who uses the loops? I don't, but I rarely have rear passengers.....

The loops are designed to keep the seat belts low for children. They make sure that the belts lie over the childs shoulder whe on a booster seat.

Oops; I didn't know these loops were there. Although they are on the rear seats of my wife's Roomster.

As for "... put the belt tongue into the opening of the wheel housing on the respective side trim panel -

safety holder."' I do this as a matter of course to stop the 'belt tongue rattling around.

So exactly where are my 'invisible' loops supposed to be - not on the sides of my outer rear seats - am I missing something ? I can see how the belt tongues fit and slotting them in is a good idea to prevent the belt tongues rattling. Just have to be careful that passengers do not snag them when getting into the rear seats since they do protrude a little.

Beside the headrest........maybe they don't fit them to certain spec's.

Elegance leather?

Yes, they are on mine. :-)

And just a point re the belt holder thingy. Remember to push the press-stud back together after re-installing the seats. On mine, at least, they produce a horrid, and difficult to locate, rattle if not closed properly.
