£24,99. You can buy THREE (for when the first one rusts away) and it will still be good value.

Hi Big Husky, interested in this bag thing, I've not seen one before. Would there be room, do you think, to squeeze a cycle carrier either side of that? I'm thinking camping gear in the bag.

Hi Bobdog,

Sorry took a while getting back to you. To the best of my recollection, I would say a couple of cycle carriers would fit either side. Or roof bag, then 2 cycle carriers side by side.

Hope that helps.

Rushed into Lidl this afternoon and bought a set, very well made and the fittings are made for the Yeti roof rails, BUT.... They are 1" too short !!!! Damn - have just repacked them carefully and will take them back in the morning.

You need 127cm long bars for the yeti, the same happened to me when Thule had the wrong size on their application guide and I ended up with bars that were too short.

The other option is a roof 'bag'. We have used this Thule Ranger 90 roof bag (340 litre) with Thule Aero bars, on a couple of holidays. The advantage being it packs away easily into it's own tubular bag, bit like a sleeping bag, so you can stowe it in a cupboard or whatever when you reach your destination. Very easy and quick to attach and take off, in fact a 2 minute job! Water proof and didn't really seem to make much noise, hardly noticed it was there to be honest.

An update on this from me. I managed to pick up the genuine skoda bars brand new for a bargain price and I'm so pleased I went for them. They are really well designed and literally take a couple of minutes to add and remove. Once in place and locked in position they feel exceptionally secure. Loading is up to 100kg on these bars.

the final part of the jigsaw came when Johann kindly offered to loan me his Kamei roof box for the trip. The Kamei looks perfect on the Yeti imo. Low and wide and well placed from front to back in terms of airflow over the vehicle and box. :-)

I'll post a few photos in the next couple of days with the box fitted in place.
