EGR valve servo hose replacement

Featured Replies

Hi guys. My first post here - I'm hoping someone can help! I have a 1.4 Fabia. Yesterday the orange engine management light came on. Ran it into the garage and they diagnosed it as being the little hose that comes off the EGR valve (looking on here I believe this to be the servo hose). It is missing. I want to replace this but can't see for the life of me where it the other end of it connects up.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks, Tim!

all i can tell you that on a vrs its connects to a vacuum unit which has many outlets..

ie. the black box that bolts over the top of the drivers side front shocker mount - it will have a handful of other pipes coming out of it.

Normally all the connectors will have something connected (8 in total).

I'm assuming it's a 1.4 petrol so doesn't have the black box. If it has a vacuum pipe which not all of them do it goes onto the air filter at the front.

Few more car details might help.

It's just a regular 1.4. I've just looked all over the engine cover/air filter housing and can't find anywhere to connect the tube to. Sorry if I'm being dense but can anyone point me in the right place?

Regular 1.4 doesn't mean a lot as there are quite a few options, age?

Do you happen to know why the fault code is?

EGR flow insufficient perhaps?

The pipe is irrelevant anyhow.

I don't know what the fault code is unfortunately. As I said I took it to an independent VAG garage where they plugged it in and told me the light was on due to the hose being missing. Any other ideas what the score with this might be?

It's probably worth mentioning that I had the coils and HT leads replaced last week due to the engine light flashing away at me. The car was fine for a day until this happened. Related in any way perhaps?

So an independant vag specialist diagnosed it then sent you on your merry way to plug a hose back on... Sounds a good garage
