Switches

Recommended Posts

I have only had my Roomster for about 3 weeks and am puzzled that a rocker switch in front of gear stick with lock symbol one end and diagram of doors on other is just floppy and does not seem to do anything also there is another switch on drivers door under arm rest that seems to do nothing. Can anyone explain before I ask my dealer.

Yes - rocking the switch by the gearlever should produce the same "thunk" from the doors as when locking and unlocking the doors with the key fob.

I have not used the door switch on mine but I believe it disables the alarm's interior motion detectors, which enables you to lock a person or dog in the car without the alarm going off.

Not quite right here - to disable the alarm there is a button on the drivers door panel.... but the button by the gear lever should lock/unlock the doors

The button on the door panel is to disable the alarm. But the deadlocks still come on so I never use it when leaving the dog inside as it would be difficult to get in in the event of a fault. I do use it on ferries though.

Disable the deadlocks by pressing the keyfob button twice.

That's what I always do when leaving dogs in the car. I was merely pointing out that the door button disables the alarm but not the deadlocks.
