Smokey exhaust

Featured Replies

Got a slight ussue with the car at the moment, if i drive her normal there is little/no smoke from exhaust, but if i put my foot down for a few mins there is alot of smoke. Recently had a new turbo fitted as the old one went pop, mechanic said the exhaust was saturated with oil. he said it would burn itself off, its now been 4weeks roughly since i had the car back and the car is still smoking badly after a few foot fulls. I have driven roughly 1200 miles since the turbo was replaced. People are looking at my car as if its fubard :wonder:

Any thing i can do to clear the oil form the exhaust?

Would the oil cause any other problems?

I cnt see the Lying oil doing the cat any good? Plus if the oil was burning off surely it would be blue smoke not black? The mechanic should have drained the exhaust etc as part of the fitment I would have thought?

Its more of a white colour

It's def still burning the oil off then, but as you said yourself fourweeks is a long time. How many miles would you do? If you only do short runs then maybe the car doesn't have time to generate enough heat to burn it off.

When I had my Mk1 Focus RS they thought the turbo had gone so replaced it. Still white smoke. Piston ring

So the blown up turbo shot itself down the exhaust?

Should have had a new exhaust fitted / cat

I would have used the opportunity to stick a milltek on
