Lost central display

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Got a Fabia as a courtesy car, while they **** around with my Octavia. I was claening the dispaly and seem to have turned of the display betweeen the speedo and rev counter, I dont really care either way as I hate the dealership and hope the service departments all die slow painful deaths but can anyone tell me how to turn it back on? cheers.

On Octavias with Maxidot pretty sure there is a Display Off function. Pressing one of the trip computer buttons should spark it back to life. If that doesnt work theres something wrong with it.

Yes that's true - you can indeed turn the display off.

Thanks guys, it was not maxidot, I gave it back to them and they will have to work it out.

More to the point though - if you hate the dealer, why did you entrust them with your pride and joy? (just wondering)

Because, they are the biggest official dealer in Madrid, I thought I was doing the right thing when I had an accident and took it to them in April, I am still fighting with them over the quality of work, they have not repaired my car to anywhere near an acceptable standard, they are sloppy (forgot to put the cover under the engine back on) did not check the transmission properly etc, and let me drive away in a car that was potentially dangerous with my 3yr old (my real pride and joy)in the back whilst smiling, my lawyer is currently issuing summons with the Guadia Civil for endangerment of life, it is not a nice story and could fill a book. You live and learn.

Yup...static discharge from cleaning can cause it to go out to lunch! Buggered...or a reset may kick it back into life.
