blower motor fault

Featured Replies

hi,got a skoda fabia 1.4tdi.its blower will only work on the fourth setting.all off the other three get no response.

is it a common fault?

The resistor has gone mate, it can happen if pollen filter is blocked etc or they can just go of their own accord. The fix is a bit fiddly mind. A quick search found this old thread - detailed instructions on how to replace it courtesy of National:

Good luck!

I recently changed mine, took about an hour due to it being tricky to get your fingers in but foloowed the guide on here and didn't have a problem.

Think I paid about £20 for a resistor off of ebay.

Plan on 40 quid for the resistor unit, mine failed last month and I got one from the dealer for 40 quid, ebay prices at the time were the same. The guide big mikey linked in the earlier post is excellent, follow that and you will have no trouble although having small hands is a big bonus

Mine went last week, £40 from the dealer and I could only find £40 online too. Only about 15 minutes to change though.
