Summer Detail and protection

Featured Replies

Hi all :)

well after i did this for the winter detail, i thought i would show the results of the hard work and protection with a little clean up and detail time.

with such a harsh winter i was glad i fully protected the bodywork with a test combination of optiseal and col 845. i have to report back and say i am stunned withe the durability and look. brilliant combination that was still beading and sheeting water well into this year

well with a full clean and start from scratch wanted before the new wax etc was applied.

process was

-Rinse with pressure washer

-Snowfoam and detail brush and APC all door jambs etc. wheel clean

-Rinse number 2

-wash with "BM and dodo born to be mild shampoo

-Rinse number 3 and dry with waffle towel

-tardis to remove tar from lower bodywork

-Wash and Rinse number 4

-Clay with Dodo Born slippy and sonax clay

-Cleanse with Autoglym HD clenser----very impressed with this product, great finish.

-2 coats of optiseal

-2 coats of coli 845

-finish with zaino Z8

with the durability and looks of my previous test of optiseal and 815 i couldnt look past it. here are a few pics to show the finish. wheels still to be taken off and sealed but with little Lily about these days time wasnt on my side

my next task is to turn around my own car, again it has fully protected paintwork but with an awful few months past ive had no real time to get it cleaned. how my car is now, will post up pics once its done :)

Nice work - will be doing similar to mine next week ready for GTI International. Will be using Poorboys Blackhole, AG EGP and Colly 476s.

Haven't tried the blackhole before so looking forward to using it......After half a gallon of Tardis no doubt as they keep insisting on putting this stupid 'dressing' on the roads to chip your paintwork and cover what is left in tar

Looks good Kenny, now stop messing about and sort that A5 out........ :giggle:

Seriously though, looks like your drive is nicely in shadow at the end of the day, which I am sure makes it easy for applying and removing product........

thanks mate. yeah tar can be an issue, was surprised how little had stick to the car since last time mind you.

ha thanks mate, due to my work car park its amazing how quick my A5 gets in that state :( only down side is the A5 will take days. wheels coming off etc as i cant commit to full 7-8hrs at one sitting.

yip the shade is brilliant at the end of the day, times it perfectly for final stage application :)

im impressed with the shine and finish of the product combination

oh and first use of Z8, always tricky to know if the paint work gets a full coating on silver as i was trying to use so little of the product
