I think my car has feelings

Featured Replies

Ever since i placed my order for my new superb my trusty old golf has started to develop faults.

Slow puncture, low engine oil, bonnet catch not working and to top it all off the engine management light has just come on.

I'm sure it knows I'm going to trade it in soon!

I know what you mean. My Polo did the opposite. I wanted to get rid of it thanks to an engine management light I could never get rid of and an electric window which struggled to close. Minute I started looking for a vRS the EML went off and stayed off and the window closed OK. Came to sell it and it was "mint" with no faults. Sold it to a local chav after sticking on the lawn outside work. Sold within 24 hours. 2 weeks later I saw it parked up outside a house with the towing eye sticking out the front. Think I sold at the right time :giggle:

My gut feeling is that the golf is ready to go, but with a three month wait for the new one I'm really worried that it's gonna start costing me money.

If it does, I might have to cancel my order.

I'm babying the vRS now, even driving less. Have a feeling the wishbone bushes need doing again but I won't be spending another penny on it if I don't have to

My thoughts about the golf, I know it needs a dsg oil change, 80k service, cambelt, exhaust, 2x tyres, front suspension is also suspect.

Already told the dealer who's taking it in part ex that I'm not doing any of this so just have to hold out till September when the new superb comes!

He has hinted that I might get a demo off him if the work needed or the mileage gets too high for him to make a reasonable profit but I don't think he was thinking it would be this soon.
