just been given a build week!

Its week 28

Also been told by Skoda that I can get the 16 inch wheels (with help from TP  ) but this may delay my order

I am still toying with getting the bronze paint, but that would mean possible del oct-nov.

If I did go bronze, how much longer would I wait than if I took the muscovado that I have on order now?

The way orders work is a total mystery. Many a person got their cars before me yet they had ordered after me. Sometimes the exact same spec of cars ordered on the exact same day gets delivered weeks apart... So no idea. Both Bronze and Muscovado are great colours. But as the Guinness ads always say: the good things come to those that wait! And that is only up to you! Good luck. Enjoy the wait.

John96, lucky you, hope the weeks fly by for you

Can I ask when you placed the order and what spec. I ask because Ive still to receive confirmation of order never mind a build week.

sounds a bit of comfort for us have to wait for Yetis until 2013.

:giggle:

It seems an age whilst you're waiting but this time evaporates and is soon forgotten once you have your hands on the car. It becomes an almost enjoyable experience in a weird sort of way, I like many others even went down the road of boat watching, which is sad but helped pass the time

:o  ship spotting never again :wall:

Thanks, I ordered 1st week of May.

I'll give the dealer another week or so before I call.

I ordered 2nd week of April (1.2 manual petrol), no sign of any build date yet so you aren't alone.

They must be watching the forum - I've just been given a build week - Week 27 :)

That seems to be the going rate for the 1.2, means you should get your hands on it around mid July. 'Enjoy' the wait, I think it was well worth it :)

Only if they fly it over as week 27 is in July, but all things being equal I should get it early in August which is pretty much what I was advised when I ordered.

Yes I was being a tad optimistic there thinking it would have been built by week 27 (4/7) although stranger things have happened I think early August would be more realistic :)

Hi Andy, I think you are about right with August. I ordered mine 28/2/11 and was given wk 27 brought forward a couple of weeks ago to wk25.

Hi all

I am new to this, but have enjoyed many hours or interesting reading!

I ordered Yeti Elegance 170 4x4, in silver metallic, on 24/3/2011 - exactly 13 weeks ago. A couple of weeks ago after discussing whether my car would be further delayed, I changed to Steel Grey and added a panoramic roof.

After 13 weeks there is no news..... can anyone shed any light as to how soon I am likely to receive some news such as provisional build week.... or what the waiting time is currently running at? I know it seems to be very inconsistent but a bit of news would help. Basically I don't remember being so excited about a car! I am worried that I may be tempted tom make other changes as the wait continues! Thanks for any suggestions.

I have ordered my Yeti 1.4 TSI Elegance (stock, no additional equipment) on 4/4/2011, and initially got response from importer that production is planned for 22 week.

After that build date status changed a lot, first 22 week, then 38 week, lost build week for a month, after that 40 week, before it lost build week again.

Supposedly the problem is with shortage of TSI engines, but 7+ months is a lot of wait for serial model with stock equipment. I hope that the final build date will be earlier.

Mine ordered week 10 (9th March) possibly build week advised on 6th June week 36 ( 2nd week Sept) = 26 weeks plus at least a month for delivery = around 7/8 months ( arrival mid end October hopefully)

Just noticed which model you are waiting for. It seems that some are much shorter waits than others? I'd be interested to hear from anyone who ordered a 2.0 TDI Elegance 4x4 around feb-march-april who have a date?! I don't think the panoramic roof was available then. Did you add that to your order? I've added that recently after reading comments in the forum. That may delay things even more! Your Yorkie sounds worth waiting for..... but I'm sure we'd rather sooner than later!

My order was held at the dealers for 4 or 5 weeks from the beginning of Feb waiting for the sunroof option to become available again and ordered as soon is it was back on Skoda UK`s system.I had been wanting to order for months but hung on for the Velux as Johann calls it! Retire next Thurs and have bought Octavia from employer until Yorkie arrives.

Cheers

Yay, at last we have a prov build date, wk33 :)

Ordered late in wk12 on Sat 26 march.

Was originally given 20wk lead time on the car so not too bad.

When you order a car and they give you a date ie.20wks, is that date the build date or when you might receive the car?

Also, on the compensation for lateness front, would that be upto a build date or when you actually receive the car, or when it arrives at the dealers?

Thanks for any replies in advance

Dom.

Ordered a Greenline Yeti on the 21st March... no build date yet. :(

Well as I've read from 900000 before, there seems to be no rhym nor reason put towards a built date and even two cars of the same spec ordered at the same time can be built weeks apart.

I will say though, that I did have to ask if we had a build date.

We were told that he would be in touch when he knew anything but I couldn't wait any longer.

My 1.2 was supposed to be built this week but had a call from dealer today and it's in transit and will be collecting on July 11th

Well I visited the dealer on Thursday, a surprise drop in. I now have 14 weeks lying on with no sign of a build week. Yet again I changed my order adding the spare wheel option. I also asked him about electric folding mirrors having read about them on the forum and seeing the dealer saying they were part of the Elegance spec. The guy checked several documents then said they were def NOT. I think the only thing I've got to look forward to is this goodwill £150 in another 4 weeks. I do find it strange the way some orders seem to slip through and others take longer. The first 3 months have flown by but now it's starting to drag.... hope I can survive!
