I'm guessing I've damaged my car

Featured Replies

Says on the bottle that it does and I know that my local Audi garage use it for the A3's that have the same engine on the fixed servicing - oh why are these things so confusing ?

its no big secret that the oil gets used during the first 10k or so miles.
OK - but when does it START getting used?

3,250 miles and the oil level's still fine...

Or are some cars just better than others?

not wanted to rub salt in your wound paul, but I had the same issue, that the local dealer didn't have any oil to buy. I said I needed some as I'm going on a long motorway journey. They said "we can fill it up using our big cans and charge you for what we use." I said ok that's fine.

Took the car off, waited 5 mins and back it can...........no charge to you sir.

So thank you Malborough Skoda

I havent got any faith that my dealer would do this: When I topped up for the first time last year I was told when I bought the car that if it needed oil just drop the car in and they'd top it up. So I tried to take them up on the offer... but "no sir, you have to pay for a bottle" was their reply.

for the record their not my dealer :D

Slight deviation from subject: My "reputable" Skoda Dealer-Dean of Dumfries-billed me on my last 30,000 service for, and do get this, 5 litres of Castrol Magnatec for my Octy vRS. Bad enough says you except the b******s never even changed the oil or the filter-unless of course Castrol now make their oil jet black and smelly. They didnt even clean the old oil filter body or around the filler neck. If your listening Mr Dean, politely put, this is a classic example of short termism. My next car WILL probably be a Skoda-it definately WONT be purchased from (or serviced by) you. :finger:
