10,000 miles and service plan.

Featured Replies

Phoned up my supplying dealer this morning, to book the Fabia in for its first service and due to the mileage and age of car, 9 months old,,the service manager suggested that I may save a hundred quid if I buy a service plan for £299.

Anyone have any thoughts on this and is it worthwhile and beneficial financially?

depends on what it covers... I just paid £83 for my first service...

And it depends on the car that is being serviced. If you average the costs it'll work out at £400 - £550 for 3 years servicing.

Thats cheap! I had a ford fiesta before and was charged like £140 for its first service at Ford

Ive been quoted £112 for my Fabia for its first service. £83 seems exceptionnaly cheap

My first service was around £70 last year, I had to pay £230 for the second one though.

first service is just an oil change... new oil, new filter, check the car over, lube joints... thats all, that should be reflected in the cost... second service (if its 2 years) will include new brake fluid, filters ect so will be more, and as above, reflected in the cost (mine will be 20k within 2 years so will avoid the cost of new brake fluid at that service....) ...

edit: someone on here got their 1st service for a few quid less than me by the way!

the lesson of the story is shop araound ;) mention this sight and the price may come down, (I said people were getting it for about £100 she girl on the desk said it would be £83, 2 weeks later when I booked in , it went up a little when she did the calcs on the computer, but computer said "yes" lol.. and she said, "I said £83 so you can have it for £83, near as makes no difference...) the new skoda garage I went to were as nice as pie when I said I'd be reviewing them on here, the service manager is aware of briskoda
