Fabia pulling to left - here's a quick fix

Featured Replies

Had tracking checked by unit 8 and all was fine. Vrs still pulled to left. Really annoying.

Here's what I figured - a hard, well inflated tyre has less rolling resistance than a soft, under-inflated one.

I inflated front nearside to 33psi and the front offside to 31.5 psi. Result - doesn't pull to the left as much due to the offside dragging a but more than the nearside.

The vrs seems to be quite sensitive to tyre pressures and I've been experimenting a but lately. These two values seem perfectly safe and there is no noticeable imbalance in the handling.

Only thing is the tyres might wear differently. If you have non-directional you can swap them over though.

surely if it pulls to the left they are likely to wear unevenly anyway...balancing up with different psi's should surely within a small difference of pressures help?

Hmm playing with different psi's on individual wheels doesn't sound too safe to me.. Im very sure that limits of grip and how it break away will be different dependent on psi. Just imagine if you simply emergency brake and it swings to the side suddenly because one lost grip before the other. Even with little difference in psi, heat can make the differential greater and that cant be controllable or noticable until its a little too late. Pulling left is due to the steering and that will always be near linear fashion and can always be more predictable, plus i thought it was a safety feature for people who may fall asleep at the wheel.

Ha, ok perhaps not the best example of uneven break away of grip limit, but you see where im coming from.
