Fabia Monte Carlo - first 500 miles

Featured Replies

Though i would put a quick post up to say how well the car is going. Had it a week and really enjoying the change. Got rid of a much loved Impreza STI For it.

Saw it in the dealers only 2 weeks ago and bought it straight away. Did not realise there was even a wait until i started looking on here!! Impressed with the fuel economy and comfort if not so the handling.

Have to say a great value buy. Got it with Climate control, Cruise Control and the centre armrest. Car is Red.

Does anybody know of anywhere that sells the grill and rear badge in black however as the green just does not do it for me.

Thanks

What engine? What don't you like about the handling?

Glad you like it, though it will be quite different to an Impreza for handling. It is probably a bit softer, with more of an understeer tendency, so it will reward a smoother driving style. You'll soon get used to it. :)

For the badges, contact Pastyboy on here and I'm sure he can fix you up.

Got the1.2 tsi. Find it understates when ever it is really pushed also find it twitchy when on the limit with the handling. Thought about lowering it but then what's the point with the warranty etc. Think I am being over critical however as I have been used to cars set up pretty much for track/ fast road use. The wife does remind me that this is for her to enjoy as well so will not be doing much to it

Will contact him for the badges. Would like to change them.

Been up to Brecon for a drive yesterday and it was great on fuel and comfort and the mdi connector is superb.

Did you get it from White Dove in Cardiff by any chance?

Yeah got it from cardiff.

Not a great experiece and one i will not be repeating. Have bought numerous new cars in the last few years. this was like pulling teeth. I seemed to know more about it than they did.

Will take it elsewhere from now on.

Would have looked around, but the wife liked this car and they had one there ready to go. I could not wait more than a week, would have bought something else instead.

Yeah. I had a second test drive of a vRS with them and it was like pulling teeth. Took me ages to covince them that I actually wanted to buy one, then I had to wait an hour so the salesman could have his lunch and then it was the rondabout and back because there was no fuel in it. Useless! Nearer you is Capitol Skoda in Newport which I've heard are not too bad but Sinclair Skoda is my local and have been brilliant

See capitol Skoda Newport sales are awful...white dove cardiff sales have been good with me although a bit quiet on the update front but a new manager has just taken over

Most sales can be slow but this was poor. Went in 4 times in the end to sort out paperwork! Appreciate it can be tricky but this was crazy, waited a week for a cheque back for my p/x as well.

Bought another Impreza in the time it took to get to me!!! Also was frustrated when told the mods on my Impreza would be worth very little to be called a day or so later to find out what had been done so they could sell it on at a better price!! Jokers

wish I had kept it as bought a very similar car for weekend/ track fun as well!

One of the reason I have avoided new cars for the past few years as dealers seem so unable to offer a service. I am happy to pay for anything as long as it is what I am after.

Well, I'll wait and see what happens with my car...I'm not afraid to get quite vocal with them if needs be, I'm as patient as the next guy, but dont mug me around! Buying a new car is meant to be a good experience, they're paid to do a job, if they can't do it, retrain your staff, simple as. So far I cant really complaint other than the lack of information on the updates but in fairness to them, Skoda pass them very little information! Me and the new manager got off on a good foot but told him I want to be kept up to date so think he got that message loud and clear :p

Hope yours goes well!! Should be ok, just got so frustrated with it. I did not even need selling on it. Just wanted to sign the papers go away and arrange a pick up date.

In the last 9 years i have bought 12 cars so was not something i was new to. Just painful in the end. Its still ongoing as i need to still sort our a private reg transfer!!!

Yours looks a nicer spec than mine, so with you spending a bit more they will hopefully be more on the ball.

So you'd think eh... nope lol. They seem to have barely any information from Skoda which you can't really blame them too much for but because they're my only real contact with skoda (bar Skoda UK who... well... don't know much!) they get my phone calls saying 'Whats happening!' and being told a bunch of random dates is starting to get on my wick.

To be honest i was not aware of the problems with ordering until i came on here and saw people talking about it.

Just keep on to them i would, worth getting their back up to get what you want. As you say you can only go on what the dealer is getting told from Skoda. I would complain to Skoda direct as well. Never know you might get something throw your way as a good will gesture!

To make you feel better, my car is only the 86 model but i am still enjoying driving it. Over 1000 miles in 3 weeks which is crazy for me but enjoy it. Nearly at 45mpg around town and easlily over 50mpg on a run.

The MDI system is superb. Best thing on the car with the ipod connected.

Looking very much to getting it now, thanks rex888 :)

Spoke to skoda today and apparently my car IS being built next week with a delivery to the dealership by approx 18th July.

Still for some reason don't quite believe them lol... got this niggling feeling its going to get pushed back!
