Knock knock

Featured Replies

Remember I made a few threads about a loud rotational knocking noise that gradually got worse over about a month or two?

In the end after enough people gave advice I was pretty sure it was the wheel bearings (as I was running 15mm spacers and thought it was adding strain). I booked it into AmD and they confirmed they were both ******, the drivers side more so than the passenger. They wanted to book me in to have them change but they were quoting upwards of £400 and really didn't fancy that so gave Ali a call at Unit 18 and booked it in there. It turns out it was actually a shattered drive shaft in the outer casing. Ali said the wheel bearings are absolutely fine...

I do wonder what would have happened if AmD had fitted both of them, charged me £400 and the noise was still there... It would be interesting to say the least. :)

some garages :dull: Bet it took Ali about 5 minutes to diagnose correctly.

And charges a lot less too. ;) If only there was another Ali that lives in Dartford and not 90 miles away!

I don't have a bad word to say about AmD. Yes, they are pricey at times, but the service (for me) has always been excellent.
