Fastest quarter mile on Briskoda

Featured Replies

Seeing as there is a willy waving thread elsewhere, why not another one for measure of performance, or a more "real world" measure IMO emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Rules are simple, any quarter mile time (verified where possible) of a Fabia on Briskoda, even 1.8T's emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Move numbers about / copy/paste, to slot yourself in.

This was against the gti as you can see he had alot better reaction and very good final speed so clearly would of been the other way if he had a good run. As dom says though it doesnt matter if you wi

I struggled at this power level to get past the 14 second barrier.  Of course, much could be down to the driver....  I only managed a 13.7 once I got the stock GTB2260vk turbo on, and now 13.4 with th

Me too, but more than likely will be 2012 for me, unless I can get on at the end of the year after my "last ever" mods are done....

Im hoping to do a couple at inters

Sticky it :-) and delete all posts, so we have to pm you with our results!

I don't have a Fabia, but my Willy wouldn't be big enough anyway

I will tidy up as I see fit. :)

Inters is a bit rubbish for 1/4 miles due to the bad start. My 13.7 was a "bad start" (2.3 seconds 0-60ft) but Inters is even worse due to the surface - Best I have managed there is around a 14.1 I think.

0-60 in 2.3 seconds? Eh?

I should have been more descriptive - I meant 0 to 60 foot distance in 2.3 seconds. You don't get a 0-60 at the Pod but might be able to work it back from the 1/8 mile marker/speed (roughly) EG: My 13.7 1/4 run logged an 1/8 mile of 9.06 @ 84mph, so could perhaps say 60mph was reached in about 6 dead I think.

So, anyone up for a RWYB day at Santa Pod in July? :)

Warrick?

I'd like to see your car in the metal.

Not seen you on the track day list for September.

Won't be able to compete with the big boys with a small willy but would be interested to pay a visit to santa pod as part of my breaking cherry track/strip plan

Well, I can do the 9th July.

Never done a timed run before so you won't be the only cherry popper... :)

I might have been tempted by 9th July (car should be back in my hands) but am at "Caring for Cars" in Bristol - charity thing.

I would also be interested in pod on the 9th as i havent either done a timmed run on a quarter mile, mine wont be as quick as most only running 210bhp

14.4s 97mph terminal

Timed as soon as the green light goes off, none of this only starts timing when the car breaks the beam

I thought that was how they all worked? Includes reaction time etc. Iv only been to Santa pod and run once (my above time) so not very experienced tbh :-/

reaction time is at it is - reaction. The actual clock doesn't start ticking until you actually move for the first time. So in theory, you could set off and a proper dragster wait 7 or 8 seconds after staging and still beat you. :)

Oh, i assumed because it was listed on the slip with the other stuff its included. :D

I thought when the clock starts it start?

Probs wrong though

So you could sit for 5 mins then still get a 14s!?

Yeah - check this video of an uberfast BMW. It waits ages after the 200SX starts :) There may be some 1/4s that have a counter starting on the green light, but it would need clarifying. Most official 1/4 miles are as I stated above. :)

blimey, thats nearly as quick as an IHI'd golf! :p

Ah i see. In fairness its a measurement of the cars speed, not the person`s reaction times, so it makes sense tbh

Matt

I did a 16.8 @ Shakespear in Oct '09, can't remember the exact speed, but I think it was 78mph

I would be up for Santa Pod as I would be interested in seeing a quick it is with the remap, providing I'm not working and I have enough money for fuel

Remap should get you high 80's / early 90's terminal and around mid 15's
