This was against the gti as you can see he had alot better reaction and very good final speed so clearly would of been the other way if he had a good run. As dom says though it doesnt matter if you wi

I struggled at this power level to get past the 14 second barrier.  Of course, much could be down to the driver....  I only managed a 13.7 once I got the stock GTB2260vk turbo on, and now 13.4 with th

I took part in a charity drag race at Stornoway Airport the other night in my remapped PD100. I was being mechanically sympathetic with my starts, and I'm quite fat, so I'm sure my best time could have been better :D

Pretty happy with that. First time out (but not much more to come I think, other than driver's technique) and still fully trimmed with all seats and a spare wheel.

Good time! Was that using Toyo 888s? I do find launching with normal treaded street tyres a real pain in the butt!

Keep the thread updated then Jason... :)

Wow, you're too quick for me.

Can you update post one too please?

At least I'm in the lead for a bit... until you run again or somebody else turns up.

Before we started this morning the guy who either runs or manages the track took me over to the start area. It's so sticky I'm surprised there is any benefit from the tyres TBH. You can feel the soles of your shoes sticking as you walk.

But yes, I was running the 888s.

I think I could possibly go a little quicker, but not a lot. It's just driver technique really that needs improving.

I didn't want to do loads and loads of runs as I wasn't sure it's be so good on the car, plus the delays were getting longer as we had drizzle a few times.

I got the first 6 runs in 2 hours. It was pretty quiet.

That includes three visits to get my times and talk the the TVR boys too.

Air temp was about 21 when we started, but was higher after two hours so they were't making the same times as they hoped. About 2 hundreths of a second down they thought on their last visit. They may suffer with temp more (than a Fab diesel) though having big petrols, I'm not sure?

Oh, was it a headwind as well? :D It usually is at the Pod as you kind of drive to the West.

I am endeavouring to get a group together for the GTI thing in the middle of October. We shall see. :)

Possibly, I forgot to check.

Just brushing up the excuses for when you beat me. B)

Edit: I think Luke (X4OAS) was refering to updating post 1 too, rather than have the current list half way down page 2.

A mods work is never done...

Can we get this pinned somewhere like a track section and make it a proper sticky thread.

Maybe make the posts more prescriptive with only the op allowed to edit the times, that way it will only be when times are confirmed. We have one on the other forums I use and it works really well

Something like this

Something like this

1- 13.41 @ 103.26 mph -Ibizaracebrake -ibiza Cupra -TD1.2s, stripped interior, cat back exhaust, intercooler spray - Stage 1 REVO - R888 - Santa Pod CONFIRMED

so guys can see the model/mods and important factors such as tyres etc

Then have sub winners so people have something to beat specific to them

fastest fabia I (modified and stock)

Fastest fabia II (modified and stock)

fastest octavia I (modified and stock)

Fastest octavia II (modified and stock)

fastest diesel (modified and stock)

Fastest petrol (modified and stock)

Overall fastest stock (modified and stock)

Works really well I think

I think we'll just keep the list going as is. I don't want to overcomplicate it. :) Updating post 1 now.

Amazing time Richard. Gutted I/we couldn't go but didn't fancy the trip on my own. I didn't even have a passenger as no one fancied the 5.30am start.

I know t.spark got 13.5 with a stripped out ibizia @ 220bhp, and normal Tyres.

I'll wait for him to come alon and give his time, and terminal speeds.

I would quite like to keep it to Skoda only to be honest, even if that Ibiza is a PD130. :)

Thanks,

My passenger threw a sickie on the Friday evening. :dull:

Shame really, as otherwise I'd have had a few video clips.

I felt a bit like billy-no-mates, but the people up there are very friendly and up for a laugh. So turned out to be a good day out, even if I was the only Skoda.

Think I was the only diesel too.

Odd one out:
