This was against the gti as you can see he had alot better reaction and very good final speed so clearly would of been the other way if he had a good run. As dom says though it doesnt matter if you wi

I struggled at this power level to get past the 14 second barrier.  Of course, much could be down to the driver....  I only managed a 13.7 once I got the stock GTB2260vk turbo on, and now 13.4 with th

Just found this thread and need some advice.

Brought a vrs that is "standard" got a 16.1300 at santapod, is this a time achievable for a standard vrs?

Thanks

Yes that sounds about right.

I know t.spark got 13.5 with a stripped out ibizia @ 220bhp, and normal Tyres.

I'll wait for him to come alon and give his time, and terminal speeds.

Ibizia :D That is all true. Terminal speeds have always been sub 100mph at pod.

I would quite like to keep it to Skoda only to be honest, even if that Ibiza is a PD130. :)

Why is why I didnt post, I can read and noticed you wanted Fabia only, and im a good boy.

Besides we all know my time wasnt right, right....

I killed it :/ haha sowwie!

Season hasn't started again yet for good times. :)

Fair point... but from July onwards plenty of times to run normally.

Not that this matters to me, as a outsider with an Ibiza :)

However, hoping to get a little time off mine this year with the help of abit less weight and hopefully slightly better turbo design for my usage.

Had a play today at Santa Pod, but I don't think +26c was helping me...

Best times:

13.6672 @ 105.67mph

13.6750 @ 104.47mph

Not quite enough to bring my time down a little. :(

^^That^^ is still very impressive mate, for a diesel hatchback. Very jealous.

Well done

Cheers

Dave

Last time I tried the quarter mile, I executed my clutch. Still, 120k miles on a stock clutch is pretty good I suppose.

Were you still in Bedford interior mode? :)

Yes, 74kg lighter (seats go back in tomorrow) but the heat and long queues seemed to sap the power, possibly didn't help the tyres although I did try to warm them up a bit where the dragsters do.

Out of 8 runs over 5 hours I had five good launch 60ft times, two of which were half a tenth down on my 13.609 time, but it just was not happening as finish times were slower. No headwind either.

No headwind either.

That's usually the killer.

Yes, seemed a good day other than the ford people all showing up to camp for the show and do a few runs, which caused long queues and the couple of drag cars that spilled thier guts on the track leading to a couple of closures for nearly an hour.

Slight tail/crosswind, car 74kg lighter and I was happy to spin the tyres up to get a big of extra grip as they were already borderline illegal anyway.

Just the actual runs once I'd launched seemed to be about 0.1 to 0.2 tenths down.

Only thing I can put it down to was the temp. With a turbo having +26c must have some effect, even with a decent sized intercooler. Having to wait a fair old while between runs was not ideal either, my car doesn't like waiting about as we saw at Bedford.

Just noticed I'm still CT17 on the list BTW Jason... ;)

Put a couple of pics on my car thread here: http://www.briskoda....ost__p__2809246

Hope to have some video clips tomorrow from inside and outside.

Not sure I can be bothered to change it ;)

+26C is going to kill times. It will mean less oxygen getting in to the engine. You have water injection as well don't you? :)

It's had quite a bit of Jabbasport attention. :)

I've added a video of my best two runs to the link for the car in my forum signature.

14.4 with 97.7mph terminal with 195 bhp

Remapped PD100, 16.3secs @ 85mph at Santa Pod this year

Your terminal speeds were as good to CT17 (lolz) so is a strange one as you couldnt have been down on bhp/ton with the same terminal speeds, so the off set in weight made up for the temps imho, hence same times (on the grade scale of things)

Very good terminal speeds, I hope to hit similar (103/104mph) in mine once I finish the new install.

Just thought I would revive this thread, went to Santa Pod at weekend for USC and decided to run up the strip for my first ever go.

1. CT17 13.6092 @ 104.46mph - Santa Pod 9th July 2011.

2. devonutopia 13.7071 @ 104.95mph - Santa Pod, last year

3. ROS53Y 14.155 1/4 mile - 5.67 to 60mph

4. chrisw_vrs 14.7 - not sure on terminal speed arouns high 90's

5. matt1chelski 15.1 @ 9xMPH - Santa Pod, this year

6. Southy 15.9 @ 87.52 - Santa Pod Aug 2012

7. Soot1e - 16.08 and 94mph. Last year at the Pod.

8. chrisw880 16.8 @ 78mph at Shakespear County (Oct 09)

9. Leodhasach 17.046 @ 81.5mph

Considering it was my first ever time on the drag strip I was fairly impressed with the time's, best reaction time was a .3995

Car is running an Awespme GTi £150 remap with a THS FMIC, weather was rather warm aswell about 22deg. Hope to improved on my time's next time.

PS oh forgot to add aswell, car is running full leather interior and also has a rather heavy sub box in the boot.

Old thread revival but its seems the only one.

Had my first 1/4mile day today and my best was 14.99

IMG_20130706_123930_zpsda9da9fa.jpg

My reaction wasnt the best on this one but it was my best time. I have no idea about the rest if its good or not. Done a couple of 15.01s, 15.1s and a few 15.2+ with higher final speed.

Also its remaped with fmic, hybrid and piper full decat 0 silencer that are not mapped in since the first map. Rear seats removed just to look the part ;)

I see you run a few times today :) looked good and did well

Nice one Joe :)

Do you know what sort of bhp / torque your running ?
