Fastest quarter mile on Briskoda

Featured Replies

Remember its not just bhp that means a fast time, its all in the launch. To aid this stiff suspension, a diff, bushes, good tyres, engine mounts all play a big part.

This was against the gti as you can see he had alot better reaction and very good final speed so clearly would of been the other way if he had a good run. As dom says though it doesnt matter if you wi

I struggled at this power level to get past the 14 second barrier.  Of course, much could be down to the driver....  I only managed a 13.7 once I got the stock GTB2260vk turbo on, and now 13.4 with th

So what sort of power running the GTB jason ?

Guessing 230 / 240 in standard form ?

I was probably around 260bhp when I ran the 13.7.  Terminal speed was 106mph.

I might be only 0.3 quicker now at 13.4, but my terminals increased to 113 / 114 mph, so I am gaining a lot at the top end, same rubbish low down....

Terminal shows true power

Is this down to a lack of traction when launching? Diesel torque ftw :P

I never cross the line over 99mph at Santa Pod in my Ibiza :(

I got a 15.6 this weekend. No idea on power figures and nothing stripped out. Fastest terminal was 92 mph. Quite a lot of spin. Definite room for improvement

I ran 15.6 at first knocked it down after a few runs pretty easy, trying different launches through the day made for good fun. You should improve that pretty easy.

My time sheet from the weekend at USC

Best I did was a 16.1, my car is just remapped and was running the Std intercooler, was rather warm aswell on the friday I did the run and also a fairly strong headwind.

Yeah hopefully so. What was your terminal speeds Joe?

Here's my time sheet

After some genuine advice as I was terrible at this!

When's the best time to do gear changes lower end? What gear do you cross the line in?

Any other tips would be great! It was my first go at 1/4 mile but I done soo poor it's embarrassing!

Does the mapping of the car have an impact?

Cheers in advance guys

Your own car dictates when you changes gear.  I change up in mine as close to the limiter as I can as I have power all the way to 5000rpm.  Other cars might not.

Mapping will obviously affect things as you have more power, and power delivery changes through the rev range.  Usually holds more power higher up.

My 14.99 was 93.3mph unsure on my others.

Yes i found changing at about 4500 was the best for mine and cross the line in 4th. I imagine i will have to alter all this when its mapped again and maybe be in 5th who knows.

That's a superb speed Joe. That was just with a map right? almost makes my hybrid look broken lol

I was probably around 260bhp when I ran the 13.7. Terminal speed was 106mph.

I was somewhere between 250 and 260 when I ran 13.6. Terminal was 105mph so almost the same.

Hybrid but on a normal plug in map still. its strange I really need to get it on the rollers. Although my new clutch doesnt seem to bite like my old one :s

Might just need bedding in more? I'd love to get mine on some rollers too :)

Probably not :D

I should do it as I'm now #1 (for how long though? :D)

Would love to see a list of mods vs times to get an idea of what to aim for.

Something like what's on another TDI forum ?

Exactly, it was still showing as some dodgy character called CT17 in first.

I'm sure you'll be safe for a while... Fabias only. :)

Yeah, I run the quarter mile list on TDIClub as well!  It's a little harder for me to get to #1 on that list with a couple of 10 second cars occupying the top spots.

That would be great if you could Jason. Some quick fabias about these days though not sure how many get tracked :(

Mine needs updating to 16.2 @ 85mph ;)

Seeing as there is a willy waving thread elsewhere, why not another one for measure of performance, or a more "real world" measure IMO emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Rules are simple, any quarter mile time (verified where possible) of a Fabia on Briskoda, even 1.8T's emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Move numbers about / copy/paste, to slot yourself in.
