Octavia Vrs knocking

Featured Replies

Hello all.

My car (mark ii vrs pd estate) has been making a knocking noise when turning left or right and when pulling away and I can also feel it through the steering wheel. I have to be driving it at some speed for this to happen but just faster than your nan might drive not ridiculously.

It was in with Skoda today and they say they can hear it but nothing is visible when it was checked over and also that the cost could spiral because they are going to have to start stripping things down so anybody with any help or advice with this fault would be great.

Ps. It only happens once through a turn or when accelerating.

I had that and it drove me mad trying to find it. Eventually, I gave it to JKM who found a loose bolt on the suspension (I forget which one  ). I didn't spot it because with the car jacked up, the weight of the wheel hub put tension on the offending bolt and I couldn't see any movement or that it was loose. A bit of loctite and a turn of a spanner/socket and job done
