When I place my vRS order a few weeks ago I opted for the sat nav, but did not see that a DAB radio was an option. However I've just filcked through the sat nav Manual for cars since 05/2011 and it talks about selecting DAB stations on page 9. Am I correct in understanding that DAB is part of the Amundsen Sat Nav? Well happy if that's right!!

The manual does state that it covers all possible options for the unit but it will vary by region. But having said that I spoke to John a Škoda UK customer services last week and he told me the Amundsen+ does come with DAB.

I should have my car in the next week or so and I'll be able to confirm it then.

I pick my new car up of Friday and the dealer told me that it had the updated sat nav but at no point until now did I think it may come with DAB.

Absolute bonus if it does!

They do enjoy repeating songs, I emailed them this and they said because diff people tune in at diff times they want to hear the latest hits!

Absolute radio. Guaranteed no repeats from 10 to 5 Monday to Friday. It beats the living 5h1t out of those that play the same CD all day!

Whilst I like Capital FM - I only listen to it to a from work so Im not exposed to the same songs more than twice in a day.

They have a "playlist" of about 20 songs and they can only play them during mainstream hours.

Sounds like The Wave that's just as bad. Nation plays ok music but its repetitive. Radio 1 is all over the place

Radio stations have to pay fee to play song. But that fee allows them to play it up to three times in 24 hours. They are just getting value for money by repeating songs.

The rest of europe have adopted a more modern version, whereas the UK has chosen to stick with 30 year old technology, Neither system is compatible with each other, so it would make little sense for them to develop a UK only version of the headunit.

My understanding is that DAB is not forward compatible with DAB+ but DAB+ is backward compatible with DAB. "If" the unit comes with DAB+ then it should work in the UK

Sorry have to be the bearer of bad news no DAB. Only options available are FM/List and AM

Does the + support playlists and/or cover art?

Or is the only enhancement the full postcode search?

Sorry didn't post up earlier that we dont have the dab but as said it just to much fun! Car I wicked! The sat nav is amazing with traffic reports, and postcode works perfect and quick, cover album is not supported and the playlist work great

The only sound that comes out of my speakers is pure ear bleeding metal played through Spotify. Total bliss :-)
