What about somewhere in Milton Keynes? That's off the M1 and about 100 miles north of Kent/London so pretty central.

Do unit 18 do rolling roads?

Around 170 miles for me, if this was closer to the Midlands then I would be tempted

I know, that's why I'm going along...

Is there a echo in here?! Lol

Not very central for members living in the North ?

Yorkshire, Newcastle, Manchester, Scotland.....

Is there not a rolling road in Leeds ?

Chesterfield - Noble Motosport.

VERY acurate, almost conservative.

Or a Hub dyno, WGT.

Last time my car was on a dyno it was at Noble. I have to say they were much better to deal with than RS were last year.

RS were just on, off, next please, whereas Noble were taking their time to make sure the cars were properly up to temp (important considering it was -2 and snowing on the day), that they were setup correctly etc. They just seemed to care more about the cars they were running.

I've bit my lip long enough.

In short, yes. It's not hard to trick a rolling road.

There are A LOT of tuners on TDI club, who say it's not possible to go over 230bhp on standard injectors.........A LOT of tuners..........Jabba seem to be the only company who can eek this magic figure out. Bare in mind standard injecors simply can't flow enough fuel for 230bhp+

At teh same time, there are reports of people going Jabba, getting a remap around 190bhp, going on adifferent rollingroad and seeing 165bhp...........

I'm currently building up a GTB2260VK on my Fabia, and I will be getting it mapped, then dynoed, then fitting injectors, mapped and dynoed, to show the difference between standard injectors.......

Well as I'm happy to bring my car along it's easy to see isn't it. :D

Mine only makes a claimed 266bhp though... currently.

No need to debate.

We'll see soon enough.

Yeah, I'll be looking forward to it!

No debate at all, until there's conclusive evidence, you've got xxxbhp, which was plotted on a Dyno graph, I've just got my doubts to stand on lol.

I think I'm just a doubting Thomas at times.....

Because I know that a RR print out can vary from one machine to another and from one day to another I never usually claim a specific bhp anyway. First time I've said the figure actually.

To me a RR print out is just to get an idea, that's all.

That's why I like the idea of getting standard and differently modified cars together on the same day, all running Fabia diesel power.

I think that Luke meant central for the southern based members. Unfortunately, I cannot see how this planned RR day could cater for every owner on this forum. This thread only started as Luke & myself were chatting the other night (in Dartford, Kent) about finding a local alternative to AmD (which is about 10 mins away) because of the random results over the last year or so.

+1

For Noble Motorsport

Exactly.

Milton Keynes or Northampton sound preferable to me, unless you can find somewhere more local.

Agreed - i'm not prepared to drive up to Yorkshire for a RR day. Sorry guys.

Maybe the northern owners could arrange a RR day to be run on the same type of RR....

Looking forward to your findings. I've been reading up lately on the whole mapping of SOI, duration and how long past TDC. Very interesting reading. :)

This rolling road day thing should be seen as a good laugh by everyone and not a case of I told you so.

It's a shame it's not easy to take EGT and cylinder pressure readings on a dyno as I think this would prove to be more interesting...

Oh havnt we been here before about 6 years ago when people use to think they could get 250bhp on stock injectors in a mk1 Octy?

Edited by faboka vrs

Southern boys go to JKM - faultless and RR is spot on.

ditto to jkm

I could be interseted pending the choice of venue and dates...
