What Have I Done

Featured Replies

My thanks go out to all those who prodded me in the right direction on this issue. Really glad I kept the Moggy, and even did the one job

I hate tonight, the grease service on trunnions, prop shaft, handbrake cables and track rod ends. None of this sealed for life nonsense, just grease up to the armpits

 for keeping it......grease service.....wish i could do that on a modern car!!! :(

Parts arrived for carb rebuild, job done, advert deleted. So it looks like the old girl is staying for now.

Good call!

And its fingers up to the main dealers charging £60 odd for a diagnosis, which doesn't always fix the car, I might add.

No such worries.

Good decision. It's a stunning example.

Just out of interest, how much would this have sold for, considering the condition it's in?

You forgot the most important tool of them all and it's a packet of fag's so you can use the packaging to set the points gap ;)

Such a simple engine to work on the A series not to mention to machine and build ;) I do kinda regret selling my Mini but alas my insurance wasn't that cheap (£800 all mod's delcared) and still paid my tax but it was the fuel which was killing me....at 25mpg I might aswell of run a scooby.
