K&N Typhoon Induction Kit are they any good?

Featured Replies

I've just looked at a K&N Typhoon induction kit which also includes a heat shield. From looking at it, it looks very nice and strong build so no problems there. The only thing i'm not too sure about is the HP figures it claims you gain from it. On their website K&N claim that fitting this to an Audi A3 with the same engine as the VRS gains about 18hp?! :o They do say it various on all cars, so is this a typical "bull**** sales tactic" to make a sale or are these figures genuine? It cost £225 to buy this system so it would be nice to gain 18 horses if it's true. B) Any thought on this?

Having fitted one yesterday I can say that they are good. It does lose the low end torque but not as much as the bsh kit lost me. The mid range and top end is awesome. I have had my stage 1 map tweaked by shark and have the sfs boost hoses aswell. Its going on Sharks dyno next monday and I am expecting in the region of 250+bhp with the mods... The noise is also impressive as its not intrusive when cruising but put your foot down and it lets you know its there!
