Dashboard heater vents

Featured Replies

I picked up my Fabia yesterday, and all four of the dashboard mounted vents are broken. They all have one or two of the pieces broken off. Is this a common problem, as I can't find any posts about it? I was thinking I could perhaps take them all apart and make three good ones and only have to buy one new one then. Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.

You could fix them, But it's fiddly at best!

A better bet is trawl the breakers for replacements!

The driver and passenger sides are best replaced as whole units, The centre vents easily unclip from the facia plate.

And remember to remind any passengers to only adjust the vents using the wheels!

There's plenty on ebay but they're all way overpriced IMO. If you find a Fabia at a scrappie you can get all 4 easily enough. The hazard switch just unclips from the back of the centre fascia.

Pengam Partmart might be able to help also, but have never bought anything from them myself.

Thanks for the replies. I'll give it a go fixing them and see how I get on. Is it a common fault or have I just been unlucky?

Pengam Partmart do have plenty of cars there, but they usually overprice their parts by a long way. I'll keep an eye on Ebay for come cheap ones to come up ;) I see you're from Risca, are there many Fabia owners down this way?

I suppose someone might have tried a vent sat nav mount or those vent air freshener things?

I know not to bother with Pengam Partmart then :)

Had another brainwave. Skoda dealers are usually quite cheap for trim parts so it's worth a phone call to check.

See the one mentioned here around Risca alot http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/205655-51-dog-red-vrs-fabia-severn-bridge/ :)

About £28ea for the outers and £52 for the centre (Including hazard switch) Scrappy's would be a better bet

got one passenger side vent for £5 out of a local scrappy
