Octavia VRS Estate 1.8T - 2005 Silver

Featured Replies

Car now sold! Thanks to everyone for viewing!

Unfortunately the time has come to sell my Octavia VRS estate. I have just started commuting in my car so I really needed a diesel (I’ve got a Scirocco diesel) otherwise I wouldn’t be selling…

So the here is the details…

180BHP (in standard form)

Silver

Just over 61,000 miles

MOT until March 9th 2012

Tax until end August 2011

Switchable Revo remap

Full service history

15/03/06 – 8,681 – Assumed serviced at this point Sold by Skoda garage

19/2/07 – 17,496 – Skoda

5/3/08 – 27,512 – Independent

10/3/09 – 34,809 – Independent

02/09/09 – 38,443 – Skoda (including cam belt and water pump)

9/12/09 – 45,481 – Skoda

11/12/10 – 54, 275 – Skoda

Unfortunately I have all the receipts for these services but I don’t have the service book 

In addition to the official services I fitted new rear discs and pads just after I got it in March 2010, and 4 new coils and platinum NGK plugs in October 2010 (1 coil died so I replaced all 4)

The remap (done by Rainworth Skoda in Mansfield) comes with a 2 modes, standard as original mode and a remap mode, its only a mild map but it does transform the performance of the car. I mostly drive it in standard at the moment as I am trying to save petrol.

In addition to the map the car also has an upgraded rear ARB

The stereo has been changed from a sony Bluetooth headunit, speakers have been upgraded to JBL (in orginal locations), and there is an Infinity Active sub in the boot tucked in where the multichanger was fitted (orginal stereo and mutlichanger will be supplied with car)

The car is exceedingly tidy inside and out, all 4 wheels are unkerbed, the seats are clean with no rips or tears. There is 1 tiny car park ding (less than 1cm) on the rear drivers door otherwise all the panels are straight

I've just put 4 brand new tyres on the car too.

Bad points (there isn’t many!):

There is a badly sprayed patch on the front spoiler about 10cm across. It had been knocked on a curb when I got it and I used a rattle can to cover it up the exposed primer(it didn’t work too well) but its not noticeable unless you look for it. It was the correct paint with the correct code from Skoda but isn’t a perfect match. The spoiler itself is not damaged.

There are a few very minor scratches and stone chips, but probably less than you would expect of a car of this age.

The foam in the bolster on the base of the drivers seat is a little squashed, again you don’t notice it but I’m just trying to be honest.

All round it’s a lovely straight car which I am very fond of, I had intended to keep it much longer but doing I need something a bit more frugal for doing 15k miles a year

I live in Hemel Hempstead, Hertforshire (HP3) or can take the car to my office in Brentford West London if you are interested in looking.

I can get more pictures if anyone wants a better view of something…

The car was previously owned by 2 briskoda members Hewey who replaced it with a Fabia and VRS-LE-OCT-II who replaced it with a markII VRS.

SOLD

I still wish it wasn't silver ;)

As I said before.

Don't let the colour put you off, don't think I would go for Black again as shows every mark.

I was the previous owner of this car and it was excellent, only reason I sold is that I wanted a Diesel due to the mileage I was doing.

I had the Remap and Rear Anti Roll bar fitted, Remap as Dan say's was done by Skoda, I drove from Essex to Mansfield to get it done by a Skoda main dealer as they said it wouldn't affect the Skoda used car warranty (bought it from Palmers Watford so had a years warranty included) so made the long trip there just to be safe.

Wasn't happy with the power delivery afterwards, felt they had raised the boost too much as it wasn't very smooth and in the wet it would put the traction control light on too easily.

I spoke with Revo and was going to back the map out but they arranged for me to take it to Shaun at AMD in Thurrock, he spent ages on it modifying the map, he reduced the boost and made it so much more drivable, it was like a totally different car.

Dan was a great to do business with and looked like he really took car of his car's.

If it's half as good as when I had it (and it still looks virtually as good) then someones really going to get a bargain here.

The car was traded into Palmers of Watford by another Briskoda member for a new Octavia VRS Diesel, spoke with him a lot before buying it, he confirmed it had been well treated and had not had a hard life at all.

Good luck with the sale Dan.

If anyones got any questions about the car that I can help with then more than happy to be contacted

Thanks hewey. I'm going to miss it too :(

If anybody is interested there is a bit of wiggle room in the price, currently 2 cars per person in my household so sadly the Skoda must go...

is this still forsale? how bad are the scratches you mention? are you able to get any pictures of them?

Price now reduced to £3300 as the tax runs out at the end of the month I need this gone.

I drove it yesterday and it was going great!

what's the deal with the service book? when did it go missing?

I'm not entirely sure if I'm honest. Hewey didn't have it when I bought it off him and he purchased it off palmers Watford after the previous owner traded it in there. I'm guessing thats where it got lost...

I have all the receipts though so I'm happy its been serviced properly.

Well...

Can't believe this didn't sell sooner, I used to own this so knew what a great car it was and know Dan took care of it.

In fact I took a very good friend of mine down to see it last night and she snapped it up. I hate recommending cars to anyone but know she's got a bargain but also a very good car too.

I drove it back home as she hadn't sorted the insurance out. It drove just as I remembered it from nearly 18 months ago. I'm just astonished no one snapped it up earlier, in the condition it's in with new tyres all round, brakes virtually all brand new, it was a bargain.

It's sat on my driveway at present until she sells her Astra, wish I'd bought it myself but know it's gone to someone that will appreciate and make good use out of it and will probably keep it for a number of years.

Thanks Again Dan, pleasure doing business with you.

Wayne
