Done Loads to the Vrs - now have check engine light?

Featured Replies

This weekend I have;

Changed the Console bushes to uprated Powerflex ones

Fitted 312 carriers, calipers, disks and pads

Fitted new rear discs

repaired rear near side brake caliper

Bled the braking system and finally...

Fitted a KW Variant one coilover Kit

The car has rewarded my for my efforts by throwing up the 'engine' warning light :wonder:

I'm fairly sure the car isn't reacting to my Father in law deciding to 'burn out' the old knackered Console Bushes with a blow torch :rofl:

I did disconnect a couple of electrical connectors during the dismantling stage (without disconnecting the battery) one that connects to the box that sits on top of the offside front suspension turret and a second that connects to the coolant system reservoir - would either of these throw on the 'check engine' light?

If the answer to the above is yes, will the light reset itself after so many miles? or will disconnecting the battery for 10 mins clear it? or do I need someone with VCDS to reset it?

Many thanks as always ;)

Yes, unplugging connectors will trigger CEL, and yes they should clear after about 10 engine starts if car driven above 10MPH each time.
