Mine arrived today, CAN'T WAIT to fit it lol any tips or advise? :)

Tip: Do it in a warmed up car!! I shivered my arse off.

Remember to push the light switch in and turn to sidelight 'on', to remove the switch unit.

I also removed the door rubbers to slide the wire in behind the pillar.

  • Got 5 x Octy spiders to go on. (Original eh?, I like original parts) Came without tyres so had all 5 alloys checked for buckles etc but all are fine, so refurbed them today at my mates bodyshop. T

Yea, quite easy, them blue connectors are good to. Position the wires in the connector then use pliers to close metal stripper then clip closed.

Karl has made it simples for us.

EBay black inserted headlights let me down this week by dodgy connections, burnt out connections etc.

So took them out and dug out the old cloudy oem headlights. Soon as they went in, the car looked terrible!!

Back out they came.

Separated the lights, took the chrome out and gave them a good sand blast.

IMAG0210.jpg

Sprayed black and also freshened up the lens with 2000 grade wet 'n' dry then polished up with machine.

How easy are the lights to split? I did this on my corsa and it was a massive pain in the arse. Any tips on that?

Unclip the 4 silver clips.

Stick the light/s in the oven for about 10 mins at about 70 degrees c.

Take them out and carefully prise the lens away. Quite simples.

This was the worst of them.

Washed with wheel acid then g101 to degrease them.

A quick sand on the scuffed bits then red scotched with the help of some prep & blend.

IMAG0301.jpg

Then wiped down with panel wipe and tac ragged to remove any remaining contaminants.

3 coats of 'Audi's brilliant Silver' then 2 Coates of laquer.

Loving the spiders! They really change the appearance of the Fab. Got any pics with them on?

Looks really nice mate, can't wait to get mine on now. What's the ride like as some people complain of the ride quality suffering a tad?

  • Author

I think the ride is better!!?

I thought it would have been more crashy, but it's not.

I forgot to ask what suspension are you running Eibachs? Any side on photos fella?

  • Author

Yea, Eibach springs, I will put side on pic up later.

looking good mate, spiders FTW!

Any side on photos? So I can see how the Spiders sit on the Eibach springs bud.

Really like the look of this mate, top job!

New boost pipes arrived today.

The originals lasted 65,000 miles before a boost leak started, so I was happy to get new OEM ones to last another 65,000 miles.

Who said you need to take the bumper off to take the headlight out?? emoticon-0105-wink.gif

IMAG0563.jpg

Can you tell me how much the boost pipes were if you dont mind me asking and were they difficult to fit

Cheers :)

I think it was about £55 odd for the two.

Well after looking at my own pics further up a couple of posts, I noticed you could see the rusty brake disc through the gappy spiders and could also see some peeling bits on the inside of the wheels.

Soooo they then looked like this...

IMAG0353_edit0.jpg

Now look like this...

IMAG0372.jpg

Painted the drum of the discs and the inside of the spiders around the centre in hamerites smooth black. No more rusty spots!!

Just spotted that dodgy dust cap!! Grrr. Change that also.

Redcupraboy, I will post a side on view soon, I promise. Lol. I keep forgetting.
