creakiness from right back door when driving on low rpm

Featured Replies

Hi,

Recently I've noticed that i have some creakiness in side the cabin when i'm driving on low speed (first gear).

The noises are coming from the right back door (it's like the door plastic coverage isn't seating stable or something)

those noises are happen only on low rpm...

(new 2011 model car)

is there anyone who familiar with the problem ?

Thanks

any one ? :(

Maybe the rubber seals around the door have gotten dry or need a bit of cleaning. I had the same problem and when the car was going over uneven parts of the road I would here a creaking sound from the rear left door.

thanks for the reply,

i'll check the rubber but it seems that the noises are coming from the door's plastic cover

If that's what it is then probably you need to remove the cover and check whether something inside is moving around or rubbing against something.

I have also noticed a similar noise - I have the estate (Combi) version. I too notice this mostly when at low speed and first noticed it when reversing.

I'm now pretty sure that the noise comes from the rear seat backs rattling slightly against the metal brackets they clip back into. I did experiment by driving with the seat backs down and the noise seemed to disappear.

I think someone previously posted that they fixed this with some tape around the brackets..... I haven't yet got around to trying this 'fix' but will have a go this weekend and let you know how I get on.

So - not certain this is the solution but might be worth a try?

i don't think that my case relates to back seat because i hear those noises/creakiness when someone is seating on the back seat (the problematic side) as well although there is a weight on the seat...

but when something is placed (hand) on the plastic door cover, the noises/creakiness are stop.

Hi there, i had similar issues and a weird sound when my front windows were totally closed. See hole thread here. I solved my annoying sound by applying some contact tape and a rubber cleaning product. Click here to view the images (just from previous mentioned thread).

You should apply contact tape at C pillar. I think the rattling noise is from the door lock. To check if it is your door's rubber, sit in the car close the door and try to push door upwards with your finger pushing the upper horizontal frame.

I agree this is one area for noises - I found people sitting in the back put enough weight on the rear seat backs to push it away from the catch so every bump met with knocking and yes, the fix is some tape around the hooks that lock the rear seat backs into place.

I have noticed another creak is when you drive up a slope at an angle and I presume the car body flexes meaning the door rubbers rub and creak - as others have said some lubricant would be in order but I was surprised at how much the body must flex (or all cars do this and I've just not noticed before!).

Try turning the rubber buffer anti-clockwise, it worked for me.
