Which size adaptors will give the best stance?

Featured Replies

Morning all,

Recently purchased these wheels off a guy on ED38

http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=391419

They are 7.5x16 ET41 compared with my standard wheels which are 6.5x16 i believe ET35

Now i have 10mm front spacers on and 15mm rear spacers but now i need adaptors to fit these wheels as im inclined to believe the PCD of them will be 5x112 not 5x100, any idea's on what size adaptors i should get to fit these with a good stance and nice bit of stretch on the tyres? The tyres going on will be 195/45/16 on the front and 205/45/16 on the rears.

Originally i was thinking maybe 15mm front and 25 rears but im not sure, think 25 rear may be a little much?

Cheers guys (and gals)

You just using the adapters? Not adapters and spacers together? Basically sticking another 25mm on the rear is in theory giving you an 8.5 wide wheel, but with a starting et of 41 it might not be too bad, although I run 8.5 wide wheels with an et13 on the rear of my Bora and they poke a bit so not 100% sure how much tuck or poke you'll get on the Fabia.

yeah sorry mate, should have made that clear, adaptors and spacers as one. Wanting a bit of poke but not rediculous if you get me. Could do with getting some photos of what people are running to be honest and seeing how they look

Anyone out there with 7.5j wheels with spacers that can give me an idea of how it would sit? cheers

Cool, got you now. et41 with a 25mm spacer will give you et16 which is pretty low, but as you say probably best to see a picture of someone with a 7.5" rim running adapters.

E11HES,

I know it will sound a lot of messing about but if you can get me the current wheel clearances (wheel to arch distance, and wheel to suspension strut, front and rear) and it can be worked out how much the wheels will stick in/out etc.

you will find that most PCD adaptors start from about 15/20mm too :)

Hi Mike. Well the wheel to arch gap is literally a couple of mil at the rear and the fronts are just tooked in under the arch so no gap there really.

Just put my info into this useful little tool on the web http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp giving these results:

Inside clearance to the strut housing: 19mm less

Position of the outside edge of the wheel: 7mm more

Does that help at all mike?

P.s Thanks for your help too Big A
