cheapest place to buy new fasteners?

Featured Replies

I need to get various odd fasteners for stuff like the wheelarch trim and the plastics that go under/around the engine etc.

Its the weirder stuff that sometimes Halfords might stock in a blister pack (plastic/metal/self tap/screw/bolt allen/philips etc)

- but costs a few quid more than it should.. :wonder:

If I knew what they called some of these automotive fasteners I could probably find them a bit easier.

Hi,

Dont know if they are the cheapest but I get some bits from these people :- http://www.vehicleproducts.co.uk

Delivery is usually within a couple of days and have always found them very helpful.

If its a part specific to the Octavia then, if you post a question with a attached pic/description of the part in question, then we can help with part numbers as quite

a few members on here have a copy of ETKA or equivalent (electronic data base of car components).

Hope that helps

TPS (Trade Part Specialists) are best for genuine VAG parts & way cheaper than using Halfrauds.

Breakers yards are always good for getting bits & pieces, & usually charge pennies for fasteners etc.

Alot of the Halfrauds stuff is naff quality too. Zinc plated soft steel rather than stainless steel.

Decent fasteners and fixtures normally have a SS stamped on them, or specifically state stainless.

ebay is worth a look, there are several traders who specialise in nuts, bolts, etc.

Decent quality isn't cheap these days though :(
