windscreen washer system low level warning light

Featured Replies

driving home tonight and washer fluid only just dribbled out emoticon-0124-worried.gif, seemed to have used a lot lately as sure it wasn't that long since topping it up! Anyway, I was under the impression I had the low level warning light. I don't have xenon's or headlight washers, so is this only fitted to these? I have had a light warning before but I might be getting mixed up with my old elegance that had headlight washers? it is definitely not showing when I turn the ignition on. I can't find any reference in the sales brochure that I still have, the manual has the asterix against it? cheap skates, I feel robbed if its not fitted.

As far as I remember it only comes on cars equipped with headlight washers

I was also surprised by this omission when changing my Fabia vRS, which had the warning, to an Octavia vRS. Cost cutting I suspect, a little annoying though!

The washer low level alarm is only on the VRS if you have Xenon lights (and hence the bigger screen wash bottle).

cheers, obviously it was my last octy that had this, I dont normally get caught out like this, lesson learnt. check my often. well going for my 2 year service in just over a week so will get topped up again (I have filled it up now btw...)!

How difficult would it be to retro fit ?

If the washer tank already has the mounting point for the sensor then only fitting the sensor, running a wire and coding maybe ?????

The tank with the sensor is completely different to the standard one. So to retrofit you would need to change the washer tank to the larger one used on headlight washer cars.

a swap to the larger washer tank will be enough for it to work? anyone here retrofitted this??

thanks..

Bump...

Has anyone fitted a larger washer bottle and got the dash warning working?
