What wheels are they?

Featured Replies

Some of you may be aware of my quest to get some steelies. Here's a link to a vRS with some on. I like this look and wondered if any of you wheel gurus knew what they are?

Cheers.

Ahh. Now I have another obsession to focus on. I'm not keen on the lack of grille, headlight eyebrows or the tow loop, but other than that it looks good.

I am really liking the candy green slam panel.

I got offered some 18" banded steels off a golf and wish I'd brought them now B)

From what I can gather, banded steels cost a lot of money. Not sure about the weight/handling that comes with them, but they do look good.

Those look like 16" banded beetle steels. Either that or some others. You can get 17" ones as above and also MK4 Golf ones that fit too. Off Mk4 R32's and the like. But tbh its always gonna look a bit iffy to me.

I guess as a kid of the 80s, I'm trying to recreate the Robocop look. :D

If you really fancy it try get a set of 18 inch ones then it can still look fairly hard with a decent offset. I forgot how crappy the Robocop car looked.

Gonna go with matte black too?

I've thought about it. Need to rub the car down and get some Hammerite. Possibly downsize the front brakes so I can fit 14" steel wheels and then I may be heading in the right direction.

They were £400 with 4 new tyres. Banded steels is about the looks not the handling :giggle:

If the golf boys can pull it off why can't we
