Another question for the coilover crew...

Featured Replies

Ok, I carried out three upgrades at once last weekend, 312's, poly console bushes and KW Variant 1 coilovers.

Big transformation and major improvement to how the car drives to say the least :rofl::thumbup:

I didn't go for an extreme drop on the KW's, leaving 10 threads at the front and 5 threads (I think) at the rear. So the car is lower than on springs, but could still go a fair bit lower yet.

I have been pleasantly suprised by how compliant the ride is, even over poor road surfaces, so I'm thinking about going a bit lower;

First, question is - does the ride get worse the lower you go or does it not make any difference?

Second (and Third) question is - does anyone have a side on photo of a Vrs on KW's with the rears wound totally down (but adjusters left in)? and how far down did you have to wind your fronts to match?

many thanks for any help ;)

Each damper and spring setup has a stroke rate and maximum compression range for 'good' performance.

Once you're lowered past this the ride will become worse in terms of harshness and performance.

Just make sure when you push on that you don't start sitting on the bump stops.
