what will i need ?

Featured Replies

i have got a standard fabia vrs on 07 reg. was looking at getting it mapped to around 180-190bhp what will i need to get to that ?

A remap :-s lol. Don't need to change anything fella, depending on the torque you might need to start saving for a new clutch.

People ( like me ) have a slightly bigger pd160 intake and a different panel filter, they aren't a necessity though.

will i not need need new cat-back system or panel filter.

You'll struggle to get it to 180bhp on the standard turbo, and 190 is pretty much impossible - not without it only lasting 5 minutes anyway.

A PD150 turbo is needed to get a reliable 180-190, but then you start to run into heatsoak problems on the standard SMIC.

No the standard exhaust isn't really very restrictive at all. Panel filters are all very subjective. Personally I run with the standard paper filter and have no problems, where as a fair few people on here have had problems with after markets ones from over oiling them and fudging their MAF.

Like he said, it is do-able at a push. At that power your standard KKK turbo won't be very happy. For a comfortable 190-210bhp you need to start looking at hybrid turbos.

so if i just got a awesome gti map and nothing else what sort of power would i get.

I don't know Awesome's figures, but most reputable companies usually get you around 165-170

cheers. was looking at getting some springs as well while am at awesome gti what would you recommend for the fabia?

Springs or coilovers?

just springs unless i could get a cheap set of coil-overs.

Have a look on www.dpmperformance.co.uk you can pick up some coilovers for £180.00 iirc. Damian is a really helpful guy, one of the site sponsors.

If you have the BLT engine, you will likely be getting close to 150BHP as standard, so any sensible map will only offer about 20BHP increase.

For bigger power, you will likely need a new clutch and flywheel setup, hybrid turbo, bigger front brakes, FMIC and boost pipework, so figure about four grand for a decent job.

As for cheap coilovers, they are cheap for a reason, their rubbish, and I wouldn't go fitting sub standard parts onto a faster car.

Insurance will increase as well.

Blimey, Moggy is that right about BLT getting close to 150?? Mine is an ASZ :(

Whats the difference? Diff turbo?

LEE_05, I seem to remember some people in Nottm have got JOM coilovers and they are apparently ok

Yea but ive just had a supposed 150bhp BLT engine mapped to 165 by shark and the difference is incredible, smoother, faster, longer throughout the revs, feels much much more stronger than oem.

Static - Shark are local to me, how much did remap cost? Any difference in mpg or too early to tell?

Ive also had the shark remap through a now closed group buy on here. Cost was £170 for a freedom member and had a mate come down with me, who was quoted around £250 for a map on a diesel fiesta.

Since ive had mine mapped ive seen a 4mpg increase and the car is alot smoother and definately more progressive through the gears than in was.And no smoke either! ;)
