Would you be able to advise on the issue below please? Seems to be related to a radio and/or CAN gateway issue. Fault is logged within 56-Radio.

It's the only possible issue I can see that's still causing a battery drain issue when I swap from the OEM Stream headunit to a Bolero. Happy to list a full scan list, or anything else that might help.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Yes, thanks - checked that already but I'm none the wiser.

Was hoping for some more precise information really, to help me try and pinpoint the issue...

No, it's an upgrade. The Bolero model in lieu of the factory Stream model. I still get the fault with the Stream back in though, which may point to an issue with the CAN gateway coding then?

When the Bolero was fitted it did have the factory CD Changer still attached yes, and functioning correctly. AUX-IN disabled in the coding, as I don't have that feature fitted to the car.

Thanks,

Steve.

Thank-you. To be honest, I think it'll need to wait a while again. As I've put the Stream back and had to trickle-charge the battery back up.

The most annoying thing is that for me to be totally sure I've solved it, I have to fit the Bolero and leave it connected for around 60hrs - to be confident that the battery isn't draining due to fitting it.

Is there any other way I can check for battery drain after fitment?

Well I've already replaced the CAN gateway with a later revision, so hopefully I've got that main issue out of the way! Or so I thought.... emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Can still post an auto-scan if you think it will help.

Cheers,

Steve

Did Auto-scan yesterday and found few fault codes. One of them was similar to this post so decided to post here.

Story so far is that car is orginally equipped with Stream radio with AUX. Only modification made by me is that I have retrofitted VW's iPod adapter to it. After installing iPod adapter radio have been working just fine - and of course the iPod adapter works also without problems.

Here's the full data from fault code:

I have checked Ross-Tech site for fault code information and have a little hunch about this. Could it be that the installed iPod adapter must be coded somewhere/somehow? Or is it possible?

Sorry if this is stupid question, but I'm just learning the magical world of VCDS! :)

Blast from the past this one! Short answer is I did resolve it, but I can't remember off the top of my head what I did.

Will see if I can dig out some old info on it.

Issue I can see for me was around July 2011. I can see from a VCDS log file from Sept 2011 that I'd altered the coding slightly and there was no errors from the 56 Radio module:

Can you help me with a solution for that faulty code?

I must mention I replaced the old Swing audio unit with Bolero.

Thank you!

Open the CAN gateway and add 77 (Telephone) to the installation list :)

Wait, I think I got it. Can gateway is a number, a menu. Like..19-Can gateway.  I click on it and then...well, got stuck here. The car is in the parking place right now. I might get to it later on.

PS: my car isn't equipped with a telephone. I connect my Android mobile phone to the audio unit via Bluetooth.

77 - Telephone is the BT module in the car ;)

Start VCDS

Select Control Module

19-CAN Gateway

Installation List

Scroll down to find 77 - Telelphone

Press the checkbox next to it

Save Coding

Clear the fault codes and you should be good!
