Help identifying part on PD130

Featured Replies

Hi,

Have an issue where one of my hoses keeps popping off under boost. Not sure what hose it is though and based on the description I have given my local Skoda dealer they seem to think it will cost £63 for the replacement part. If this is the correct part, just wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives?

Not the best picture but this is the large hose on the top left of the engine when looking at it from the front. Its a 2004 Octavia 1.9TDI.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

do you know your engine code or pm me your reg?

Is it the end without a hose clamp on?? Shouldn't it have one??

Might be worth in buying a couple of hose clamps with the screw tightening to see if that fixes your problem? £5 instead of £63?

Engine code for the PD130 is ASZ.

Yeah dont need the hose just put a new clip round it!

But im not sure why it keeps popping off!

Never had any boost hose do that to me although im not saying it wouldnt lol

Try a new Jubilee clip and take it from there

The left hand end of that pipe should attach to the EGR assembly (under the plastic cover). As others have suggested it should have a clip to hold it on, as as at the right hand end where it is attached to the plastic section of pipework.

The best of images, but you can see my pipe, removed and tucked under the EGR, and also the metal spring clip still on the EGR metal work. This is from a 110TDi, so slightly different....

Thanks for the replies people. Had to get an EPC diagram from local dealer in the end and found that it was actually a different hose they had priced up. Cost is £45 instead. Have ordered the pipe anyway and should have it on in next day or so.

Not sure if jubilee clip would work as it is a metal coupler fixing into a metal casing (on that end of the hose anyway), and the issue is the protruding bits that the clip slides over have worn away. That coupled with extra boost pressure are the probable cause.

Thanks again.

Mark make sure you change both of the sprung clips as well - as they wear at the same rate as the hose ends, the clips are less than a quid each .
