Fabia Sport 1.4, Seats

Featured Replies

Saw the new Fabia sport in the flesh today, not quite sure what Skoda were hoping to acheive with this model, 1.4 SPORT who are they trying to kid.!!!!!!

But the Seats are Fantastic, Material quality is good and they are far more supportive than the seats in my Fabia Vrs and in my opinion would go better in the Vrs.

Wonder how much it would cost to change the seats

Off to ring the dealer !

Photo, photo, photo!

(Where does everyone get those smilies??)

"they are far more supportive than the seats in my Fabia Vrs "

Did you get flat seats in yours like? Given the vRS seats are the most supportive I've ever sat in, with substantial side bolsters, I find that very hard to believe.

Quick quessie: it's 1.4 and 75bhp, so is it a diesel like the proper vRS then? My mum's old Polo 75bhp PD was quite nippy to be fair, and the engine wouldn't be entirely unworthy of the tag 'Sport' (unlike her current Honda Jazz Sport, which if it is a sport, it must be something slow and ponderous like chess or indoor bowls... ;) )

No its a 1.4 16v, and despite the claimed figure which dont look too bad on paper, I cant see it being worthy of the Sport tag.

The funny thing for me is, my old Micra Sport was also group 4 insurance, but had 7 bhp more power in a bodyshell that probably weighed 300 kg less, and yet Skoda claim it is faster than that Micra. I very much doubt it though...

That's really daft then - they've actually DETUNED the engine from 100bhp to 75 bhp, and then put it in the 'sports' model. Truly a triumph of style (styling?) over substance

seems that way....On the question of none vRS models, is the 2.0L 115 bhp really worth the extra outleigh when they do a 1.4 100 bhp? as surely they would have similar statistics.

I have sat in these sport seats. Seem exactly the same as Vrs ones just black and no logos on.

Shame they are the same as the Vrs's as i dont think the "sport" deserves them!

Yeah, the 2.0 litre is probably more flexible low down, but ultimately, the lesser weight of the engine would count in the 1.4's favour.... I reckon the 1.4 16v 100 bhp car would hardly be any slower than the 2.0.

2.0l engine is far more "lazy" and torquey because of its size which means you don't have to rev the nuts off it to get it moving. Have a search on here, there's plenty of comments by Mike who has just ordered a second one! :D

Chris

It is meant to tempt the younger driver into the world of skoda.Something sporty looking but cheap insurance.Autoexpress just tested it.0-60 in 13.8 and all that

As autoexpress say (correctly IMO) skoda will have a hard job against the citroen C2 and corsa sxi.I bet (a conservative estimate) at them selling,well,......none really ;)

Seats are good though.vRS should have had all dark material.Maybe someone on high has spotted all the gripes about white materials on both vRS models :)

That is VERY slow for a model designated "Sport".

Its rivals will be doing it in about 10-11 seconds.

I saw the Sport in the showroom when I took my Octy in for a check. Liked the seats but not that little shiny tin can stuck on the end of the exhaust pipe to make it look 'sporty'

I had one of those on my 100bhp. It clipped on to the exhaust which curves down, so it did nothing

The seats are exactly the same as the vRS ones, just a different trim

So basically it's all show and no go, hehe. drop a 1.8T engine in :)

Two adverts were run for the C2 in a non reputable car mag. One was titled"knicker dropper glory" one talked about th C2 having a feminine side,"the passenger seat".

They were for a special edition ministry of sound. About

You could probably get a Citroen C2 GT for the price of the Skoda Sport, and although I am not a citroen fan, I think I know which car I'd rather have in this instance, and it aint the czech...

Don't want to pour more misery on the fabia sport....but I have to :)

Saw some poor chap driving one this morning. It might have been a courtesy car or it might have been one of the reps.

Anyway, the thing was plastered head to foot in stickers advertising the garage and something likeTHIS IS THE FABIA SPORT,TRY ME BUY MEor something naff.

If they had put them on the forecourt for

The seats are the same as the VRS, just no logos and all black. They're probably the best bit of the car. The one I saw at Horners in Mcr was definately an importer/dealer special edition - had an aftermarket electric window kit installed with the crummiest switches I've ever seen in a blanking panel under the stereo.

Dude, where do you get your information from???? Seriously, have you driven the 2.0 Fabia? Because my best friend has the 1.4 16v 100bhp Fabia, and I have raped him so many times over in a race, and when I talk rape, I'm talkin like a Type R Civic raping a vRS Fabia.

Geez man what is up with you guys, you all suck  You haven't even driven the 2.0, yet you have the audacity to make a comment based entirely on figures.

If you wanna base it on figures, then we'll put it like this. A 2.0 is only 0.3 seconds slower 0-100 than a vRS. But if I've managed to top 220 kmphs with it, then that really does say something about it's performance.

As far as seats go, the 2.0 comes with vRS seats with a different trim. Same goes for the 1.4 Sport.

The Fabia sport we have been offered in the UK is a 75 bhp disappointment with the only real good bit being the seats, hence the thread ;)
