Hi everyone,

I've been using this forum for ages, pretty much from when I got my '07 Octavia 2.0 TDI PD VRS 170 with 93k on the clock back in October 2010. I've not joined the forum up until now, but I wanted to say a big thanks to Ben at Shark Performance for sorting me out with a dpf removal and remap, and this seemed the best place to do it.

It's been an expensive journey so far - £3k on an engine rebuild (new cylinder head, couple of new injectors, new

valve etc) after the end of a glow plug came off and rattled round in cylinder #1. That was February this year.

Then two weeks ago I lost power, limp mode as I now know, and the DPF filter light came on with the flashing glow plug light.

Long story short, after looking on the forum, and reading about Ben and Shark Performance I decided to go to with

the DPF removal and remap. Strangely enough, the car recovered from limp mode on the way down to Mansfield, and the dpf and flashing glow plug lights went off, so I got to drive it down to Mansfield at full 170bhp.

That was Monday morning. Ben took me out for a test drive this morning, and I was completely blown away (white knuckles are fading now - thanks Ben). But it just gets better. Drove it up to Teesside this morning. Huge difference in 6th gear, when overtaking - pulls, and pulls, and just doesn't stop.

Plus my fuel economy is improved, my insurance is cheaper (going from direct line to adrian flux / m&s), and no more annoying 'your dpf filter needs to regenerate' lights.

So thanks Ben, you've restored my faith in my Skoda.

The other highlight this year was towing my 2 tonne Land Rover Defender 110 across hilly Huddersfield in the snow and ice (winter tyres - Marangoni Meteo HP 225/40 R18 92V XL - and auto socks - get some, they are awesome).

Previous car - V reg skoda octavia 20V sli which I'd had for five years.

Thanks

Steve
