BOXSTER S DISCS

Featured Replies

Hi guys and gals,

any ideas if the above fit the vrs?

been offered a set off a 3.2 that are 312mm so they might be worth a shout

PCD will be wrong, so they won't fit.

Plus the disc thickness, offset and swept area need to match up for them to fit the standard calipers.

If they are 312mm there's no point anyway.

Unless you mean the Boxter S calipers and not discs?

As above, if you are after a brake upgrade why don't you just try changing the disc and pads for something performance.

The amount of people that I know what to spend ££££ on big brake kits when all they really need is a disc and pads upgrade and new fluid, so saving money and doing the job they need it to do:

To give you an idea:

Tarox Pads - http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=11715&xSec=293

Tarox Discs - http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=11709&xSec=9208 (312mm)

Tarox Fluid - http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=14280

Hope this helps!

cheers for the replys guys, i already have drilled disc's with mintex pads but i've managed to warp 2 sets in 12 months and begrudge keep spending big bucks on new discs every 6 months.

i've also since found out there 318mm not 312mm lol

ahhh no!!! Nightmare mate! What discs are you using?

To be fair you might have a little bit of run out on the hubs so if you keep getting this it might be worth while getting the discs skimmed then they suit how the hub is and you don't tend to see issues after that!

You might also have a caliper sticking.

Just wondering what it is with these drilled and grooved discs that everyone keep getting?! lol

You get no performance gain underbraking compared to normal discs infact if you want to be picky you could say you get less as the pad has less surface area to bite on because of the holes and grooves!

Stay away from the fancy stuff!!!

I use OEM spec Pagid discs from Euro and Pagid OEM spec pads on the Porsche calipers ive got and ive yet to warp a disc and they will practically throw you off the seat with a little too much braking effort!

By the time yuve bought X drilled discs and posh pads you couldve bought a set of 4 pots for £250 and the brackets for £80 job done!

I have used tarox g88 discs and found them terrible, whining and massive vibration. In the end I ended up with oe discs and tarox pads very good combo.

Thats the best way to go IMHO
