Give my wife a wave

Featured Replies

...as part of my support crew for a sponsored walkl I'm doing over this weekend.

It's 62 miles over 24 hours with no sleep  (certainly not for me and not much for her either!) along the South Downs between Petersfield and Brighton and she'll be tired and bored so a wave will cheer her up if you see her driving between checkpoints.

Looks like :rain: at the moment so looking forward to it with trepidation to say the least. :(

Wot? No chance of wife doing a spot of off-roading along the route with you? :giggle:

Good luck (to both of you), enjoy the scenery. If it's raining at least you are unlikely to overheat.

PS> You've missed a marketing trick; what's the walk in aid of and do you have a weblink for sponsors to use?

I did consider posting the details but wasn't sure if it was allowed to be honest.

I would also be uncomfortable asking members for sponsorship if I don't actually know them outside of the Forum

Currently re-proofing my Gore-Tex jacket and trousers so I'm prepared for the worst but hoping for the best! ;)

Thanks for your number. With the weather the way it's looking at the moment I might not get my phone out very much in case it short-circuits the battery!!

dave, why don't you just go ahead and post sponsorship details??

I'm sure you can raise a few extra ££££££££ and it IS for charity after all.

While I'm on the subject, would anyone like to buy any raffle tickets to support the Cardiomyopathy Association???

Dave,

Good luck for your walk chap.

I do hope the weather stays reasonably dry for you.

Sorry, not interested in Raffle tickets but ....

Dave, please post (or PM) your sponsorship details as I'd like to recognise and reward your efforts  come :rain: or :sun:

I'm very suprised no one as asked " Is she Qute "

Good luck with the walk

Because that would just be a bit creepy...that's why.

OK, if you really insist on giving money to charity, the event is in aid of Oxfam and it's run by the Gurkhas, so some money goes to their trust also.

Event details are here:

and my team's sponsorship page is here:

Thanks so much for your good wishes and thanks in advance for any coppers you find down the back of the sofa (still looks like 24 hours of rain) :'(

Thanks; donation made.

Being ex-Military and having 'yomped' over Dartmoor in years past I understand your efforts and feel the Ghurkas are great.

Firstly, thanks for your sponsorship Bahnstormer vRS. Very kind of you

Completed the 62mile overnight challenge yesterday afternoon after a mammoth 29hr walk.

Slightly stiff today, but otherwise can't complain. No blisters

Very wet and muddy for a lot of it but a great and memorable time was had by all.

Have to say, the Gurkhas were amazing and not only organised the entire event, but also handed out tea, coffe, food, smiles all day (and night) long. (Oh yes, they ran the entire course in about 10 hours as well)!!

Epic!
