Take one nice Octavia Estate in some green colour; a bit like this one:

And the thought of tints.

Mix them up and either pimp tint to limo spec on rear and rear sides, then come upa bit to legal for the fronts.

Graduate from safe legal at the front down to the rear.

Just do the rears ala galant style, which I quite like.

Just leave it alone and get a decat exhaust.

Pimp it!

As soon as I can financially bear it I will have my windows done in the darkest legal possible way.

If you want to tint it up, pimp-stylee, may I suggest "indulging" in an old 3 series beemer?

I don't know the legal thing with regards to tinting. I assume the fuzz want to be able to see in your car when they're pulling you over, in case you is a well dodgy geezer, innit! And you is goin' to blow those pigs away with that AK you is hiding behind your tinted window, in a drive-by! Aye!

Thinking about getting it done on mine if I do some ICE improvements, purely from a security

point of view. But I don't know if will actually encourage people to peek in.

It's supposed to make it shadier inside though, which could be good if it's left in the sun...

Rob.

as dark as you can to keep robbing prying eyes out.

also if they cant see in you can use your phone in peace......

As dark as legally possible!

Read this in our web links for info on what is legal for tints. And don't forget to let your insurers know that you won't be able to see out of the car as well as you used to with the original tints!

Dennis that doesnt actually tell you how strong a film you are allowed to use...

as I recall the law is now:

min 100% for windscreen

min 70% translucance for the front side windows

no requirement for windows behind the b pillar.

Motor vehicles first used between 1/6/1978 and 31/3/1985 must have windows which allow at least 70% of light to pass through. Motor vehicles first used on or after 1/4/1985 must have windscreens which allow at least 75% of light to pass through - all other windows must admit at least 70% of light.

These requirements do not apply to:

any part of the windscreen outside the

pimp it ya mo-fo foo' !!

You know what a difference the tints n pillar trims make - do it!

:D

A point of etiquette here, Mattijs. 4X4 owners shouldn't stir up trouble for each other. But it's open season elsewhere.....

(As Des would say: Don dis yo bros.)

Come on over Colin... Come to the dark side...

But I'm stuck in the middle as it is. 4x4s, hatches, black beauties - they're all family.

And one will only accept a lack of etiquette if it's coming from within the family... :D

Tints and pillar's looks great on a light car... would just do tints on red or darker...

Been thinking about having the windows tinted would look better than the Pooh Bear sun blinds :( , but not sure weather it would look to much like the estates coming to the morgue here at work

Darren

any tint is better than none....

I had my L&K Estate windows tinted with legal max tint on all side windows and almost "limo" tint on tailgate glass.

I will post a photo of it tomorrow (or is it today now?)

Cheers,

John.

As promised, this is rear view of my Otavia Estate with dark (5%) tinted tailgate glass
