VRS 'Premium Pack'

Featured Replies

About to collect my VRS next week, so popped in to the dealer to sort a few bits out the other day, he bought my car up on the screen as I wanted to make sure all my options were on the car as I wanted, and up came 'VRS Premium Pack' I asked the chap about it he said all VRS's come up with that, so I was just wondering what it was? Presume its some sort of pack that makes it a standard UK market VRS but can anyone confirm who detail what this is please?

Also, being a new car what badge will it have on it now??

Thanks, James.

Do you mean what will the registration plate be or no you actually mean the badges on the back?

If it's registration - it's an 11 plate until the end of August, 61 from September 1st onwards.

I think he means will it have the updated logos on the wheels etc?

Premium pack probably 18" alloys, dual zone climate, jumbo box, rear electric windows and cruise. All now standard, used to be options.

Yes...It all these

Yes I thought it might be that I was just curious :-)

As for the badges what style will the bonnet, boot etc badges be as it's a my12 build?

I have chosen my plate from the batch the dealer had it ends WYZ so 'whizzy' like that one!!

Ah - it will have the "old" Skoda badges on.

As far as I'm aware new logo's aren't appearing on the cars until 2012 - so from January.

Oh BTW - a recent insurance company survey said that cars with a "Z" anywhere in the numberplate are more likely to be involved in an accident than any other letter :)

I purposely avoided any Z on my plate when I picked mine a few months back because of that survey.

Was it cold at Stone Henge on midsummer's night ;)

I take no chances :)

It was a "fun survey" but the thing with surveys and statistics is that they often reveal interesting patterns.

So when given the choice of 8 numberplates I just instinctively chose one without a Z in it.

If I'd just been given a car with a "Z Plate" it's not as if I'd refuse it.

However given the choice I just decided to avoid it.

My motorcycle accident last week .......... my bike had a Z on reg plate ........ why couldn't you have told me this earlier might have saved me 6 months lying in bed :p ......my other bike has a Z also on plate :(

Why would a registration letter make one joy of difference? Amusing survey...

Colour of car I could understand, but what's written on the number plate? emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Wasn't a News of the World survey was it?

Ah the joy of statistics :giggle:

Take the last 3 letters of current style numbers. Each letter can be any one of 24 (I think there is no Q or I) that means that because there are 3 letters 1 in 8 cars will have at least one Z in the last 3 letters, all things being equal.

BUT! If for some reason "Z" is an "attractive" letter, when folk select their number plate they will tend to go for the "Z". Number plates will have proportionately more "Z"s that other letters and so will be involved in more accidents.

A rough equivalent would be to say that more Octavias are involved in accidents than Yetis - so don't buy an Octavia.

Z has also only been available for selection in UK registrations (excluding NI) since the new-style appeared in Sept 2001.

Elephant and Daily Mail hey - what a combination!

My last few cars had z in the plate and it hasn't made much difference, what makes a difference for me is if the wife is in the drivers seat that statistically increases the accident risk about 50 times!! :-0

On the basis of this survey there is a good reason to avoid a Z in the number plate.

No, I don't believe it can increase the chance of an accident.

However, if an insurance company thinks it might, cars with a Z will have higher premiums. :o

I seem to remember a few years back an insurance company proclaiming that drivers who share the same surname as a British F1 driver were less likely to be involved in an accident.

Did all the Hills, Stewarts and Mansells get cheaper insurance? Nope, just insurance companies trying to seem less boring. An uphill struggle.

prob talking half of cars in NI have a Z in their 3 letters :p

And that's the one and only reason they pay a lot more in car insurance. FACT.

According to a recent survey anyway... ;)

it was more replated to people involved in a car accident where a car with a Z in reg was there they tend to get a massive personal injury claim it must also be related to the survey.

"Have you been involved in an accident in the last 3 years that was not your fault? Were you injured by the result of anothers actions? did the other car have a "Z" in its registration? If so call claims reject on 0800 ZZZ ZZZ"

Very odd. Surely this cant be true !
