Still trying to find my way around the forum, so this question may have already been asked.

Ordered my Octavia Estate 2.0 DTi 4x4 at the end of June (told build date wk.51 maybe later) Before it is to late to adjust my order, just wondered about the Maxi-dot, should I have it? What is the difference from the normal trip computer and is it worth paying the extra.

The maxidot screen gives you more information and more control over certain features. Now in reality the extra control is only really useful in the first few weeks as you try different settings to see which you prefer but the extra information is useful all the time (i.e. which door is open, which light is not working etc.). Now all the changes that maxidot can make can be made using VCDS or a trip to the dealer but this is a hassle and the dealer may charge. Hence for the low price of maxidot I feel it is well worth it. It also looks a little bit nicer and higher quality than the standard LCD.

Agree with PSM, totally worth it! In reality if you bought a VW or Audi, the equivalent kind of system would be standard!

I've had both and can only say that Maxi-dot is a must have.

I was in same boat thinking of adding it after order and dealers said no not possible id have to replace order after advice on how late I should be able to change it on here I had a go at them again and less than 2 weeks before build they had it added after I took them up on their threat and said "ok then give me a new build date genius" 4 hours later it was on my order and confirmed by SUK on phone.

I got it mainly for the quality look and feel of the car that it brings plus the lil bits you can see on it and control is great took me about 2 or 3 seconds to work out how to use it this was how long it took me to close door on said sales man trying to show me the switches and buttons when it was raining into my new car !!!
