vRS Insurance

Featured Replies

Hi Folks, I'm new here and pick up my first Skoda on friday (22nd). Its an 08 vRS petrol. Have checked various comparison websites and independant insurers and the cheapest I have found is £440 More Than. I'm 30 with 7 years no claims, the missus is a named driver and she has 1 years no claims with a recent theft claim. (She had 3 years but they took 2 off). The car is on a driveway and I don't use it for commuting. Oh and I'm in Norfolk. This about right for price??

Sounds reasonable but try Admiral as they seem to do well on the comparison sites. Are you intending on any modifications as this will put up your premium?

Will probably get it remapped but not for a while. Seems a half decent price to me, only asking to see if other peoples prices are similar. I'm looking at buying a track car soon so don't really need this car to be too fast and it'll mainly be the missus driving it with the little one on board.

Problem is there are so many variables with insurance eg postcode, age, record etc etc. I switched to Esure a few years back on one of those 'we'll beat anyone' type deals and every time I check out renewals I can't find a better deal. Even though the press is full of horror stories about huge % rises, mine increased minimally this year and the only extra I had was switching from a 7 year old Vectra to a brand new vRS recently which wasn't unreasonable. Personally I avoid comparison sites as they never give the full picture so I would check a few of the major insurers for the best deal. Good luck ! :)

I'm with more than and its also the cheapest i could get when i bought my vrs,had it 3 years now from new also 08 plate.Wish i could get it for £440 though and i'm 32.Probably down to postcode and the usual crap they come out with.I think i'm paying £590.00 Or something.

I'm 25 and pay £1500 for a brand new stage 1 petrol vrs. Ouch! Your prices seem lovely to me.

Doesn't sound too bad. I was only a bit less than that when I got mine at 31 and I've a low risk postcode.

I'm with ESure and normally get quotes via the comparison sites.

My Mk2 VRS premium is £255 with Churchill but my postcode is very low risk and I am in my mid fifties with full 8 years no claims.

I think you should try the comparison sites.

8 years protected no claims no points or anything (pure luck) advanced driving qualifications etc and am 26 £1200 ..................... fuming £330 for my old stage 1 furby floated around that price for last few years.......

Thats not bad try sky from the partners section. Mine came out cheaper the admiral which was alot cheaper than elsewhere.

33, high rate postcode, 14 years ncb, no points but 1 non fault accident came out at £690 for a year.

2010 VRS - £254 last year gone up to £348 this year. No reason at all except insurance going up like 46p a day.

36, 18 years ncb, myself and wife - business class 1 as being in IT I travel to different sites - postcode ME20

Thanks folks. Have gone with More Than @ £440. Couldn't find anyone who could get anywhere near that price. Next closest was £580!!! Now just enjoying a cracking car!!

I just went with LV and got it for £330 (35, 9 yrs NCB, 3 pts) which is actually £50 cheaper than last year (so much for insurance price hikes). I have a CR VRS though.
