favorit rebuild

Featured Replies

hi i am new to briskoda and am currently rebuilding my favorit i have owend this fav for nearly 2 years now and due to a recent 6 month trip to australia i came back to find it dead in my garage

the car was left over winter and in my town this year it got to -17'c froze my coolant solid because of this a full rebuild is needed as as well as poping the core plug out the head it poped 2 of the lower bore seals causing the sump to be full of 10 liters of oil n coolant mix

as i am known in my town for my skoda i could find the heart to scrap the beast so time to splash some cash

the one thing i despise about these cars is the dificulty to find decent branded tuning parts i am a mechanic by trade so building custom parts may be the way forward any info were i can get any tuning parts from will be a great help any thing from interior to twin carb manifolds i will be greatfull

I have plenty of stuff am about 15minutes from s****horpe

Hi,

Had to laugh at the system treating S****horpe as a rude word!!

I'm also only about 15 miles away from you. What year and model is your favorit? If you need an engine at all, I've got a perfect and very low mileage (19.5k!) engine available for a modest price due to my electric conversion

Thx for reply, i will quote what i posted over on the wanted section below if thats ok.

Hi, i am after a few seals(washers) that go from the master cylinder to the servo, 3 in total i have been told, the post below that i posted under favorit section will explain it, or where i might be able to get hold of these parts, thankyou

Hello people, i have been reading these forums for months now so decided to join, any how, i have just got my skoda through its mot after spending £300 to get it through, any how it has got a problem now and i really hope to get it fixed after spending alot of money on the car, when driving down the road at a constant low speed it kangaroos(jerks like no petrol has got through or mis fired) it still drives ok thou just keeps kangarooing, jerking, anyway took it into my local garage and they said it was a few seals need replacing between the master cylinder to the servo, 2 little O shape seals(washers) and 1 horse show like seal(washer) but they cant fix it as they cant find the parts(i dont want to scarp the car after all this), anyway they cant seem to get these parts, so i am going to post on the wanted thread here, but i wanted to find out how this could be the real problem, what would these few seals have to do with the car kangarooing(jerking, like running out of petrol, mis fireing, hard to explain really) oh and if i cant find the seals can they be made with like a gasket sealant sort of stuff, thankyou guys.

Paul, do you have a servo ?

Hi,

Sorry, I don't have a servo. Read your other thread though, just a thought, will a Felicia servo fit? as parts are still available and much felicia stuff will fit Favorits as they use the same chassis.

Regards

Paul

Hi Paul, we had a felicia at our local scrap yard, but the servo was infact different, i have thou used some parts fron it in the past thou, thx for reply.
