Handsfree Issue

Featured Replies

I joined Briskoda a few years ago when I was looking to get an Octavia VRS as a company car.

I am back again as I am now looking at a superb estate.

I have it for a 24 hour test and like most things about it but 1 thing is causing me problems, bluetooth handsfree.

I have paired my iphone 4 with the car using 16 digit passcode, it all goes well. Can stream audio as media player and phone book comes over.

Big problem though; no one can hear me! I can hear them but they can't hear a thing total silence.

Iphone works on my current car just fine.

Anyone got any suggestions as to what to try before I give it back in the morning as a lost cause?

Tried deleting and re-pairing but that didn't work. Am i doing somethign daft

Do you know the kit itself definitly works?

Can you try another phone just to see if its just an issue with the mike in the car?

Have a look under the various sound options accessed by pressing the "Tone" button on the Columbus and see if anything's muted or switched off.

It must be a volume control muted or turned down, I have an iPhone4 and it works perfectly with my Dec 2010 Superb Elegance Combi (with Columbus)

same here no problems something must be switched off

Think it must have an error, did another 20 mins this morning trying to get it to work before i took it back.

Messed with every conceivable slider and setting, tried 2x Nokias and iphone. No one could hear me.

May have to go back in to dealer and try a different vehicle for confirmation.

According to my manual:

In the PHONE menu, look for "Extras" and the "Switch off the microphone" option. Conversations held inside the vehicles cannot be heard by the other party

when the microphone is switched off.

Also, during a phone conversation, if you press the green phone button during a phone conversation the current conversation will be switched to “mute” (Display: “Call is held”). This means that the connection remains intact while the audio transmission is interrupted.

Thanks for the suggestion, I did give the manual a blitz for suggestions.

I gave the microphone "off" and "on" a few times as you suggest to "give it a nudge" but to no avail, tried using green button to dial form columbus, tried dialling from maxidot, tried dialling from phone, tried dialling from phone normally and then transferring to bluetooth, tried muting and un muting but it just wasn't interested.

Deleted all known pairings in car and phone and then putting them on from fresh as this has worked on a previous car.

The upsides is that it is definitely worth following up because everything else on the car was really nice (really econoimcal too!)
