Amundsen+ / RNS315

Featured Replies

Dear briskodians,

I have just placed an order on a:

White Superb Combi

2.0tdi 140bhp

Elegance (european level trim / comes with leather as a standard but no satnav - just the bolero)

Additional treats or extras as some call them: Heated front windscreen and seats, amundsen+ satnav/bluetooth, front and rear parking sensors.

Is there anybody out there who owns a superb and has the amundsen+ in it?

Can you confirm it is a RNS 315?

Does the screen look small in such a big car ? I wasnt told about the size difference in comparison to the bolero, and have been quite shocked by the smallness of it...

I couldnt justify the extra 1k for the columbus so I know I am not getting the top level satnav - but is it good enough to be used or should I keep my tomtom within reach?

As regards to the ipod/iphone... is there still an aux port in the front centre console or is it only the one on the front of the radio (yuk - dangly wires...)?

Thanks in advance for any help and guidance on the matter :)

From france,

John.

Congratulations. The same engine as mine, and is running beautifully.

But... There is no such thing as European level trims, each market can be different. For example, here in Belgium, my Elegance trim included the Columbus SatNav, but does not include Bluetooth (and as an option costs 400EUR).

I know I didn't answer your questions, sorry. Can't help you.

I've used the RNS315 in a Passat and it's OK, especially the way the junction diagrams come up in the MFD. The Amundsen + seems to have the zoom in/out knob in the middle below the screen same as the RNS315. the Amundsen without the + didn't have that iirc, I assume they react the same with the MFD.

However iirc the RNS315 has DAB and the Amundsen + doesn't.

Thanks - about the trims, I realised how the french elegance trim had nothing to do with the UK one so I guessed (wrong) that it was a RHD / LHD business...

Can't wait to get the car... ordered 24th June and estimated delivery date is mid september but i fear it will take longer according to other people's experience!
